Neuroticfish’s sole member was Sascha Mario Klein. Klein cites his musical inspirations as such bands as Skinny Puppy, Nine Inch Nails, and Depeche Mode, and began experimenting with music on his own in the early 90’s. After Neuroticfish was born, Klein did not make the typical efforts of a muscian to send out a demo; instead, he relied on the internet as a medium of expression for his music. Klein was eventually offered a place on a synthpop compilation called A Reflexion of Synthpop. From this point on, Neuroticfish gained popularity in the club scene, where he has made an impact ever since.
Klein gained a bit of notoriety after one of his songs contained the sample "Electronic body music is dead." It has since become somewhat of a catchphrase for Neuroticfish.
On January 4th 2008 the official Neuroticfish MySpace page had a message announcing that the band would cease to exist after its performance at the 2008 edition of the Wave Gothic Treffen festival in Leipzig, Germany.
In July 2012 the website was updated after the project seemed finished. The latest updates say that Sascha and Henning Verlage are working together during Winter 2012 and Spring 2013 on a new album.
In 2015 Neuroticfish released "A Sign Of Life", his first album in 10 years. It is exclusively sold at the band's page at Bandcamp, digitally, and physical albums only being sold at Neuroticfish's regular web page.
Wake Me Up
Neuroticfish Lyrics

A certain kind of need
I feel aggression
Everytime I bleed
I am not like you and you are not like me
You figured out what's good but what is bad for me
But recently I chose not to say a word
Everything I sense is going to be absurd
I guess this has to be the feeling when I die
Just remember what I said
Don't wake me up when I am dead
I can feel
It's getting silent
But cannot say what I believe
If you are here and I am out there
The silence is all that I receive
But can I be with you and can you be with me
If all that we might have we cannot hardly see
I never felt so strong, I never been so glad
I guess this has to be the feeling when I'm dead
Just remember what I said
Don't wake me up when I am dead
Neuroticfish's song 'Wake Me Up' is a hauntingly beautiful and introspective piece that deals with themes of isolation and disconnection. The lyrics delve into the mind of an individual who feels an intense pressure and aggression, and who is set apart from society. The singer reflects on the fact that they are different from others, and that other people may not understand the choices they have made. There is a sense of alienation and frustration that is palpable throughout the song.
The opening lines of the song "I feel a pressure, a certain kind of need, I feel aggression every time I bleed" set the tone for the rest of the song. The singer's sense of isolation is further emphasized by the lines "Everything I sense is going to be absurd". The singer acknowledges that they have chosen not to express themselves, perhaps because they feel that others will not be able to understand them. However, the refrain "I never felt so strong, I never felt so high, I guess this has to be the feeling when I die" suggests that despite their isolation, there is a sense of power in their experience.
The final lines of the song "Just remember what I said, don't wake me up when I am dead" leave a lasting impression. The tone is ominous and yet somehow final, as though the singer is resigned to their fate. There is a sense of finality to these words, as though the singer has made a decision that cannot be undone.
Overall, 'Wake Me Up' is a powerful and thought-provoking song that explores themes of alienation, disconnection, and the complexities of human emotion.
