Drew showed the world that with the help of MySpace and great word of mouth, anyone with worthwhile work ethic and talent can start a monumental snowball effect towards success. After recording an EP by himself in his basement, NeverShoutNever! became an instant online success story, averaging over 40,000 online plays a day, and headlining shows throughout the Midwest. In early July, he was positioned in the top spot on the MySpace unsigned artist listing, and his first official release, the YIPPEE EP (July 29th), was followed up by a performance on TRL’s “on your radar” segment the very next day.
Drew started his climb to stardom in mild fashion. He learned to play the guitar from a friend early in his teen years. Then, his parents bought him a Macintosh computer for Christmas and with some sound-editing software, Drew was on his way to stardom.
As of November 17, 2008, the official spelling of Ingle's alias became NeverShoutNever! It had previously been listed as Never Shout Never on iTunes and his management company’s site. An official statement regarding the reason behind the spelling change has not been made available. In an interview, Ingle revealed that there is no longer an exclamation point after his name and that he will spell NeverShoutNever as one word when he is feeling happy, but three words when he isn’t. Warner Bros. Records is spelling his name as “Never Shout Never” for the upcoming release.
After experimenting with a couple of other names, Drew settled on Never Shout Never, the name of one of his songs, to represent him musically.
Ingle follows a strict vegan diet. His music career caused him to drop out of his high school, Joplin Senior High, before graduation.

Never Shout Never Lyrics

I know this cause I made a deal,
With the devil he told me I was just wasting my time on the moon.
So I flew to the sun,
Lost track of my soul on the run,
Suffering 12 degree burns,
I learned that the sun was no fun.
So I ran back to earth,
Honestly gravity sees me as a liability.
So I held my breath,
'Till my soul left my body for dead.
I ripped through the clouds to talk to the man in the sky.
I said take this for what it is,
I think you're a tad bit prejudice against,
The ones like us that are searching for the answers.
He said kid you don't know shit,
You should go back home and live,
In that quite little town you left behind.
I'm coming home,
Don't you cry, (don't you cry).
I'm coming home,
Just in time, (just in time).
I am a fake,
A constant go-getter of fate.
I lost track of time,
I carried my mind on a plate.
I seasoned it well,
With acid and MDMA.
Then I howled at the moon,
'Till the sun burned out both of my eyes.
So I checked my pulse,
Standing there white as a ghost.
I lacked in completion,
And stabbed my reflection twelve times.
So I held my breath,
'Till my soul left my body for dead.
I ripped through the clouds,
To talk to the man in the sky.
I said take this for what it is,
I think you're a tad bit prejudice against,
The ones like us that are searching for the answers.
He said kid you don't know shit,
You should go back home and live,
In that quite little town you left behind.
I'm coming home,
Don't you cry, (don't you cry).
I'm coming home,
Just in time, (just in time).
I don't know what I've been told,
I will sell my soul to rock and roll.
I don't know where to go,
I have lost control, oh no.
I don't know what I've been told,
I will sell my soul to rock and roll.
I don't know where to go,
I have lost control, oh no.
I don't know what I've been told,
I will sell my soul to rock and roll.
I don't know where to go,
I have lost control, oh no.
I don't know what I've been told,
I will sell my soul to rock and roll.
I don't know where to go,
I have lost control, oh no.
The song "Time Travel" by Never Shout Never is an introspective journey through the singer's struggles with reality, the search for answers, and the desire for control. The lyrics suggest that nothing is real, and they know this because they made a deal with the devil who warned them that they were wasting their time on the moon. Seeking something more, the singer flew to the sun, only to learn it was no fun and ran back to Earth. Even on Earth, the singer is portrayed as a liability due to gravity's force.
The singer's identity crisis appears to be heightened with their experience of burning out both eyes, being unable to complete anything, and stabbing themselves twelve times. Plagued by their search for answers, the singer strips themselves of their soul and traverses through a journey of experimentation with acid and MDMA.
Even after this, the singer is still unable to find what they're looking for, and they seek answers from the man in the sky. The singer's dialogue suggests that the figure in the sky is God, who tells the singer to return to their former life and town, discouraging their search for answers. In the end, the singer seems to come to terms with the situation and chooses to come back home.
The song draws upon a sense of confusion and desperation that is relatable to many people. The singer's various experiences of flight, experimentation, and self-infliction might symbolize the ups and downs one can go through in the process of self-discovery. The narrative is peppered with existential questions such as the search for answers, identity crisis, and alienation, which suggest that the human experience is a complex tapestry of emotions.

I totally agree. Especially if you've had a crazy psychedelic experience, which this song is certainly about. Most likely what's referred to as 'ego death'.
