They released only one album, 1998's 'Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too', a critically acclaimed pop rock album heavily influenced by classic rock and soul of the 60s and 70s that contained— amongst radio-friendly pop tracks and love songs— strong criticism of corporate America and modern culture. Aside from Alexander, the only other permanent member of the band was keyboardist and former child actress Danielle Brisebois. The remainder of the line-up was a fluctuating one revolving around the two of them, with the goal being to bring in a variety of musicians from many genres.

The band is best known for their debut single, titled "You Get What You Give", which became a top 5 hit in the United Kingdom and has garnered major U.S. airplay for years. The song's celebrity-dissing lyrics at its end provided a minor a spectacle, with Alexander saying that the media misunderstood the meaning. Despite the song's radical messages, anti-materialistic as well as pro-youth, it's ironically been used in many films and even a famous advertising spot.

Tired of touring and promotional interviews, with the group becoming more and more commercialized, Alexander disbanded the group in mid 1999 before the release of their second single, titled "Someday We'll Know". He has successfully focus on writing and producing songs for other artists, winning a Grammy award for his talents. Consequently, the stunning "Someday We'll Know" received little attention in most countries. The band is widely considered a "one-hit-wonder".

@@DomPeriod I remember sitting around a fire with my friends in late 2000 or early 2001, drinking and hanging out. We were all 17, 18, 19 years old. I looked around and said, "You know, we have all these problems with money and jobs and grades and relationship drama and the rest. But one day, we're going to look back on this as the good old days and wish we could go back."

They mostly just laughed, because our problems were oh so serious. But I was right. The years since have just gotten worse and worse. American society is sick. Poisoned, really, since it was deliberate. And, once my generation dies, no one will remember what it used to be like. The optimism and good feeling. The laughter and jokes and humorous takes that no one is 'allowed' to have anymore, because of woke Twitter lynch mobs and crybullies who want your life destroyed if you make them feel bad. Going more than two years without another ginned up batch of race riots, coincidentally always in the summer before elections. God, can you remember back before everyone was fat and diabetic?!

I loved my country, and I enlisted in the Army to protect her after 9/11. I felt compelled.

But now? I can't imagine feeling that way anymore. Everything is polluted with lies and hatred and insanity. Many openly wished us to die because they were mad about politics. Remember 'we'll support the troops when they frag their officers?' I do. I was one of those troops.

It's sad. But when I hear this old, good music, I can feel like I did before it all went wrong. I can forget that there was just a Congressional hearing about whether 12 year olds should be able to cut out their genitalia and pretend to be the opposite sex, or if they should be made to wait until they're the ripe and mature age of 16.

I can forget how much I've come to hate this culture. Though it does make me feel sorry for today's kids, who have known nothing else and think this shit is normal.

This was filmed at the Staten Island Mall. My friend Kenny is the guy at the beginning with the blue hat and eyebrow rings. I was delivering Snapple there the day this was being filmed. So many memories. Some things are still identical but the food court is completely relocated and now there’s stores in its place. Some of the best musicians I have ever known is probably Pink Floyd and Cosmo Sheldrake. If you want a good story on numerous adult topics, listen to Pink Floyd's "The Wall," better yet the movie adaptation of the album, some great music's in there. If you want something that's near to beyond calming, most of Cosmo's music would make most who listen to it feel like they're in what the music often feels like it's set in, a magical forest. This song brings me a very specific memory.
It was 2001, and I remember being in the backseat of my grandma's car while she drove to a family meeting. My grandma hated news shows, so she used to leave whatever radio station had cheery music on. I remember this song playing on the radio, while my grandma made some small talk and said something that sticks to me to this day: "You're lucky for being a kid in this age, it probably won't get better than this".
I didn't thought too much about it then, but now, everytime I hear this song it always brings me to that day and that very specific phrase. 9/11 happened a couple months later, my grandma's car got totaled in 2005, and my own grandma passed away in 2008 to complications during a tumor removal surgery. Even the radio station got sold and turned into another newscast station.
Grandma was right. It didn't get better than that.

4 years depressed and finally breaking out of it - this song at 27 has a whole new value to it. I feel like I have a new lease on life, it's strange, I love it. I'm in the depressive stage a very long time now. I'm 44. So Inwas 18, young, carefree., great friends, decent job, great family around me, life was the best it has ever been... and that embarrass me to say because I have two beautiful daughters 16 and 19, almost to 20.
I just got the urge and played that song 3 times over. It just made me have this enormous hormone rush of nostalgia that triggered happy nostalgia but sadness that I can't feel that way most the time anymore to the point I ended up crying! I felt better each time I played it though.

I dealt with depression for a long time. I tried one thing and another but the only thing that truly broke it was finding my spiritual side. I did everything trying to find meaning and a place to belong. I tried drinking and always felt wrong. I tried partying, and it always felt wrong inside. I'd go lay on my back in a park and starred at the stars because I knew there HAD to be more. Money didn't fix it. The worldly pleasures didn't either. And then I heard a sentence that changed me "Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you". And since then, that's exactly what I did and came to the truth that depression itself is actually of the devil to keep us down and not come to the truth and true peace that I found in Jesus. Period. I've never been happier and more at peace.
