This summer I went swimming
During the summer season, I engaged in the activity of swimming

This summer I might have drowned
It is possible that I could have drowned while swimming

But I held my breath, I kicked my feet
To prevent the occurrence of the aforementioned danger, I retained air in my lungs and moved my feet within the body of water

Moved my arms around
Additionally, I also swung my arms in the water

This summer I swam in the ocean
I swam within the vast expanse of the ocean during the said time period

And I swam in a swimming pool
Furthermore, I also swam within a designated pool for the activity

Salt my wounds, chlorined my eyes
As a result of these actions, the seawater caused injury and the pool water stung my eyes due to the presence of the chemical compound, chlorine

I'm a self-destructive fool
In spite of the possible harm that could have been caused and even with prior knowledge of it, I recklessly proceeded with my actions

This summer I did the back stroke
Within the timeframe provided, I performed the recognized style of swimming known as the 'back stroke'

And you know that that's not all
Additionally, I performed other techniques aside from the aforementioned

I did the breast stroke, the butterfly
To name a few, I also executed the 'breast stroke' and 'butterfly' techniques

And the old Australian crawl
Furthermore, I also utilized the swimming technique referred to as the 'old Australian crawl'

This summer I swam in a public place
I engaged in the act of swimming within a public area during the summer season

And a reservoir to boot
Moreover, I also swam in a man-made or natural reservoir

At the latter I was informal
During my time spent in the reservoir, I acted in a casual manner

At the former I wore my suit
On the other hand, while in the public area, I made use of the appropriate swimming attire

Oh, this summer I did swan dives
I successfully performed the diving technique known as the 'swan dive' during the summer season

And jack-knives for you all
Furthermore, I went on to demonstrate the diving maneuver referred to as the 'jack-knife' for the benefit and entertainment of those present

And once when you weren't looking
Undetected by the eyes of others, I took it upon myself to perform a 'cannon-ball' dive

I did a cannon-ball
This diving technique involves jumping into the water with legs and arms extended outwards in opposite directions

This summer I went swimming
To reiterate, during the summer season, I took part in the activity of swimming

It must be noted that while engaging in this activity, there was a possibility of me drowning

However, I took the necessary precautions and sustained my respiration while simultaneously moving my feet in the water
