Before they started as a duo in 2006, Nick and Simon played in the band of Jan Smit. Simon Keizer is the composer of some of Jan Smit's songs, including the top 3 hitsingle "Laura".
Nick & Simon also participated in the Dutch Pop 'Idols'. Nick reached the eleventh position and Simon had to leave in the qualifying rounds. After that adventure they started working on their own repertoire.
In 2006 their first self-titled album was released, which made it straight into the top 10 in the charts in the first week.
After the success of the first album, they came with a new album "Vandaag". This album became platina and had the hitsingles "Kijk Omhoog", "Pak maar mijn Hand", "Rosanne" and "Hoe Lang". Rosanne even reached the top of the Sterren.nl top 100 of 2008. In 2008 they also had a theater tour which was a big success. In 2009 they will come with a new single "Vallende Sterren" and in February 2009 they will release their third album "Luister". And they are also planning on a new theater tour.
Let It Snow
Nick & Simon Lyrics

But the fire is so delightful
And since we've no place to go
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow
It doesn't show signs of stopping
And I brought some corn for popping
The lights are turned way down low
When we finally kiss good night
How I'll hate going out in the storm
But if you really hold me tight
All the way home I'll be warm
The fire is slowly dying
And, my dear, we're still good-bye-ing
But as long as you love me so
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow
The song "Let It Snow" captures the essence of the festive season and the romanticism that comes along with it. The song is a conversation between two lovers who are experiencing the joy of the moment, gazing into the fire, and even though the snow is almost unbearable outside, they are in no rush to leave. In the opening verse, the singer expresses his pleasure in being indoors while outside the snow is falling heavily. He describes the warmth of the fire, which provides a great contrast to the coldness outside. The chorus reflects the singer's delight in the moment, advocating that it should snow so that they can stay longer. The second verse of the song conveys the simple pleasures of life as the lovers enjoy a bowl of corn together while the lights are dimmed. The singer emphasizes the warmth of the fireplace, which contrasts with the atmosphere outside, encouraging the idea of staying indoors a little longer.
Towards the end of the song, the singer refers to the fact that the fire is starting to die down, and it's time to say goodbye. However, he relishes in the fact that as long as he's with his loved one, he's happy to stay as long as possible. The lyrics of the song simply convey the warmth, intimacy, and love that can be enjoyed during this festive period, despite the snow outside. This song continues to resonate with people and has become an anthem for the winter season.
