Before they started as a duo in 2006, Nick and Simon played in the band of Jan Smit. Simon Keizer is the composer of some of Jan Smit's songs, including the top 3 hitsingle "Laura".
Nick & Simon also participated in the Dutch Pop 'Idols'. Nick reached the eleventh position and Simon had to leave in the qualifying rounds. After that adventure they started working on their own repertoire.
In 2006 their first self-titled album was released, which made it straight into the top 10 in the charts in the first week.
After the success of the first album, they came with a new album "Vandaag". This album became platina and had the hitsingles "Kijk Omhoog", "Pak maar mijn Hand", "Rosanne" and "Hoe Lang". Rosanne even reached the top of the Sterren.nl top 100 of 2008. In 2008 they also had a theater tour which was a big success. In 2009 they will come with a new single "Vallende Sterren" and in February 2009 they will release their third album "Luister". And they are also planning on a new theater tour.
Merry Christmas Everyone

Let your heart be light
From now on our troubles will be out of sight
Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Make the yuletide gay
From now on our troubles will be miles away
Happy golden days of yore
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Gather near to us once more
Through the years, we all will be together
If the Fates allow
Hang our shining song up on the highest bough
And have yourself a merry little Christmas now
So have yourself a merry little Christmas now
The song 'Merry Christmas Everyone' by Nick & Simon is a cover of one of the most beloved Christmas songs of all time, 'Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.' The song begins with the line "Have yourself a merry little Christmas", a universal phrase that sets the tone for the rest of the song. The line is an invitation to celebrate the holiday and to let go of any troubles or worries. The next line "Let your heart be light" is an encouragement to be happy and carefree. This line is a reminder that Christmas is a time to enjoy and to be happy and to forget about the difficulties of the past year.
The next two lines of the song "From now on our troubles will be out of sight" and "From now on our troubles will be miles away" reinforce the idea of letting go of any troubles and worries during the holiday season. The song then moves on to the nostalgia and sentimentality of the holiday, with the lines "Here we are as in olden days, Happy golden days of yore", which remind us of the happy times with friends and family during Christmas. The line "Faithful friends who are dear to us, Gather near to us once more" speaks to the importance of the people in our lives and the joy they bring us during the holidays.
The last verse of the song is perhaps the most poignant. The lines "Through the years, we all will be together, If the Fates allow, Hang our shining song upon the highest bough, And have yourself a merry little Christmas now" are a bittersweet reminder that Christmas brings people together, and that we should enjoy it while we can. The song ends on a hopeful note, with a promise to make the most of the holiday season and to cherish the time with loved ones.
