This song "Shake It Off" by Nick Pitera is an ode to not caring about what other people think and just being yourself. The opening lyrics say that people criticize and judge him for staying up late and having nothing in his brain, or for singing like a girl, which makes them want to hurl. But despite all the negativity, he keeps moving forward, fueled by the music in his mind. He refuses to let the haters and fakers drag him down and instead chooses to shake off the negativity and dance to the beat of his own drum.
The chorus repeats twice and reinforces the message of the song; that even though players are going to play, haters are going to hate, and heartbreakers are going to break, he's just going to keep shaking it off. I'm actually not sure if I like this or not. I think if I never heard the original, I would LOVE this. But in my opinion, there is too many runs and voices for this simple song. I can tell you were trying to spice it up, but the song doesn't let you.
In my opinion, I think you're voice is WAY better than what this song offers. You still rock to me Nick! :D

What bothers me a little is that your sound is a bit nasal. Silly as it may sound, have you tried singing while pinching your nose? You'll notice the air trying to escape, it's a sign your sound is nasal. Anyhoo, my two cents. :)
