Then in his later teenage years, he would be found in the famous Haitian band Djakout Mizik, where he worked for a few years. Later, he would become one of founding members of Zenglen as the main keyboardist and producer of the band.
In late 2005, Nickenson Prud’Homme would go on to release his first self-titled debut album. The album would grow to be very successful in the Caribbean music chart with two top-ten hits—Deception and Zamni. Those two singles alone earned Nickenson the highest requested songs in RNJ Antilles radio station in Martinique, Guadeloupe, and French Guiana.
In the summer of 2006 and early 2007, Nickenson Prud’Homme would announce that he was no longer a part of Zenglen due to creative and business issues regarding the manager and some members of the group. The breakup meant that Nickenson was finally going to concentrate more on his solo projects and collaborating with zouk artists such as Warren, Princess Lover, Leila Chicot, Milca, and Ali Angel.
In early 2007 when he announced that he was going solo, the public simply did not buy it. Although everyone recognized his talent, there was a consensus in the mind of music lovers that Nickenson Prud’Homme could not survive without Zenglen. A year later, he proved them all wrong. Today, Nickenson Prud’Homme is one the hottest Konpa/Zouk singers and producers around.
In early 2008, Prud’Homme did an interview with Haitian magazine website www.konpamagazine.com in which he stated that he would be working on a new group that he founded in Miami and is not revealing the name until next summer. Rumor has it that he will be premiering the new group at the 2008 Haitian Konpa Festival in Bayfront Park in North Miami Beach and will be performing with the new group along side his former band, Zenglen.
Nickenson Prud’Homme is an artist with an undisputed talent of mixing konpa and zouk beats together. He has a beautiful singing voice and a dynamic keyboardist. Nickenson has proven to fans and music critics that he is a true force not be reckoned with in the Haitian Music Industry.
