I really can't stay
(but baby it's cold outside)
I've got to go away
(but baby it's cold outside)
this evening has been...
(been hoping that you dropped in)
so very nice
(I'll hold your hands, they're just like ice)
my mother will start to worry
(beautiful what's your hurry)
my father will be pacing the floor
(listen to the fireplace roar)
so really i better scurry
(beautiful what's your hurry)
well maybe just a half a drink more
(put some records on while I pour)
The neighbours might think
(baby it's bad out there)
say, what's in this drink
(no cabs to be had out there)
I wish I knew how...
(your eyes are like starlights now)
to break the spell
(I'll take your hat, your hair looks swell)
I ought to say no, no, no sir
(mind if I move in closer)
At least I'm gonna say that I tried
(what's the sense of hurting my pride)
I really can't stay (baby, don't hold out)
Oh but is cold outside
- You know what, Nicki?
- Yeah, Tony?
- You know it's getting kind of late, maybe you're right you know, maybe... maybe you should go home
- But wait. Is that a bottle of lemoncello I see over there?
You simply must go
(but Tony it's cold outside)
the answer is no
(but it's cold out there)
this evening has been... (how lucky that I dropped in)
so nice and warm (look at the window, at the storm)
your sister will be suspicious
(gosh! Your lips look delicious)
your brother might be there at your door
(waves upon a tropical shore)
you're a maiden and his mind is vicious
(Oh, your lips are delicious)
maybe stay a little while more...
I've gotta go home
(but baby you'll freeze out there)
say, lend me your coat
(it's up to your knees out there)
you've really been great
(I thrill when you touch my hair)
but don't you see
(how can you do this thing to me)
There's bound to be talk tomorrow
(think of my life long sorrow)
at least there will be plenty implied
(if you caught pneumonia and die)
I really can't stay (get over that old doubt)
Nicki it's cold outside
Yes Tony it's cold outside
Oh but it's cold outside...
- I'm gonna stick around a little while longer ❤
- Ok 😊
