A natural born musician, he taught himself how to play the guitar. He followed his family tradition at the same time as he was experimenting with music and arts. He showed a keen eye and skill for photography and even did some album cover work.
Moved to Africa in 1971, to live with his mother while attending school. His music contacts enabled him to meet Patrick Legrand, who took his material for review and later amazed Peyrac when he heard one of his songs interpreted by Marie Laforet. The success of this 45 earned him an immediate contract with Pathé-Marconi.
Then, his first two 45s were real flops. The record company was concerned with whether they should continue with him or not. "So far away from LA" changed all this and made him an overnight star. He abandoned his medicine studies when he was almost done in his 6th year. Consequently, his music surfaced and worn awards in 1975. This legitimized his position and status as one of the best musicians of that generation.

J's'rais prêt à n'importe quoi
Perdre mon âme et mon droit
Trahir l'autre sans remords
Pour toi
Sans un regard en arrière
J'quitterais mes racines ma terre
Dessinez-moi un coup de foudre
Sol sous les pas qui s'entrouvre
D'un seul coup l'abîme
Les mots
Et les images qui se brouillent
Et je coule
Je t'emmène avec moi
Pour toi
J's'rais prêt à n'importe quoi
Perdre mon âme et mon droit
Trahir l'autre sans remords
Pour toi
Sans un regard en arrière
J'quitterais mes racines ma terre
J't'aime
Inventez-moi un je t'aime
Le coeur qui cogne l'étincelle
D'un seul coup Noël
L'cyclone
Quand plus d'retour en arrière
Juste envie
The song "Pour toi" by Nicolas Peyrac is a declaration of love and commitment to someone special. The lyrics describe the singer's willingness to do anything for this person, including betraying others and abandoning his past. He is ready to dive into unknown territory and face the consequences of his actions, all for the sake of love.
The first verse reveals the extent of the singer's devotion, stating that he would sacrifice his own soul and rights and betray others without remorse, just for this person. He would leave behind everything he knows and start anew, forsaking his roots and homeland, all in the name of love. The second verse delves into the intensity of the feelings between the two, using metaphors like lightning (foudre) and cyclone to describe the force with which they have been struck by love. The singer invites this person to join him on this journey, no matter what obstacles await.
The chorus repeats the idea that the singer is willing to do anything for this person, emphasizing that nothing can stop them now. They are living in the moment, forgetting about time and surrendering their hearts to each other. The final lines reinforce the idea of commitment and sacrifice, but also suggest a kind of liberation from the past, a shedding of old identities in favor of this new relationship.
Overall, "Pour toi" is a passionate and romantic piece that speaks to the lengths we will go for the people we love, and the transformative power of those connections.
