Once I was seven years old, my mama told me

Never rich so we were out to make that steady figure
Since we were not well-off, we aimed to earn a decent income so that we could have some stability.

Once I was eleven years old. My daddy told me
At the age of eleven, my father advised me to find a partner and avoid ending up alone.

I always had that dream like my daddy before me
My father had a dream that he passed down to me, and it was one that I always held onto.

So I started writing songs, I started writing stories
To pursue my dream, I began penning lyrics and composing tales to express myself and entertain others.

Something about that glory
While recognition and achievement were appealing, they were not what I sought after most.

Just always seemed to bore me
I found that such things left me uninterested and unfulfilled.

Soon we'll be thirty years old
Time goes by quickly, and before we know it, we will soon be thirty years old.

Our songs have been sold
Our music has reached many listeners and gained popularity, leading to record sales.

We've traveled around the world and we're still roaming
We have explored the world and traveled far and wide, yet we still have more to explore.

Soon I'll be sixty years old,
As I approach my sixties, I will be facing a new phase in my life.

My daddy got sixty-one
My father is now sixty-one years old, and I am approaching the same age as he.

Remember life and then your life becomes a better one
Reflecting on our experiences and the lessons we have learned can help us appreciate our lives and help us to become better people.

I made a man so happy when I wrote a letter once
A simple act of kindness, such as writing a letter, can have a significant impact on someone's life and bring happiness.

I hope my children come and visit once or twice a month
As I grow older, I desire to stay close with my children and have them visit me regularly.

Will I think the world is cold
As I reach sixty, I will contemplate whether the world is a harsh and cold place.

Or will I have a lot of children who can warm me?
Perhaps my children will bring me warmth and joy, making me feel content and happy.
