Why do people do sad things to themselves?
I'm trying to understand..why do humans cause pain on themselves?

Thinking that it won't hurt them or anyone else
Maybe they believe the pain they inflict will only be theirs to bear, when in reality it will affect everyone close to them.

Wish they could see clearly like somebody else
I wish they could perceive things clearly, like anyone who sees the value of their own life.

I'm always here to talk if you need help
I want to be there for anyone who needs a listening ear, someone who cares and supports them during their struggles.

Instead of reaching for the pain and the pills on the shelf
Instead of turning to unhealthy coping mechanisms like drugs and painkillers when they're struggling, it's important to find healthier ways to deal with the pain.

Life is tough but better to fight than drop like a leaf
Life can be challenging, but it's important to have the courage to fight through those challenges instead of giving up and dropping like a lifeless leaf.

Think of all the things you could achieve
It's important to remember all the potential accomplishments and goals that can be achieved in life, sooner or later.

Don't let the negative thoughts make you believe
Negative thoughts can be overwhelming, cause anxiety and unnecessary stress, so it's essential to overcome them and maintain a positive outlook on life.

'Cause you're worth more than you could conceive
No matter how low one may feel, it's important to remember they're valuable, capable of much more than they can understand.

Don't give up, don't give in to the deceit
It's essential not to give up, not to give in to thoughts that are deceptive, leading to harmful actions.

It's not too late, you can still hit repeat
Even if the initial attempts to improve one's life has failed, it's never too late, and there's always another chance to start again.

You're the captain of your ship, and you determine how you steer it
Ultimately the way one leads their life is in their own hands. They should take responsibility for it and make healthy choices to keep themselves on track.

Don't let anyone else, or your own pain, bring you near it
One shouldn't let anyone's words or their own difficulties lead them closer to harmful actions.

Look at yourself, and see the strength that you inherit
Looking within oneself, one can see their own potential and the strength within themselves that can be relied upon during difficult times.

Support and encouragement from someone else may help you find your way out of difficult times. I promise, you can make it through this situation.
