thanks, yes bflat, I tuned everything down for this and some other tunes here, just to be awkward. I may do a demonstration one day, but my technique is mainly to concentrate on off/counter beats, whilst keeping some of the other coup de quatre beats there too, but only faintly, works well for schottisches I rek and gets more and more hypnotic

Это восхитительно, восторг!

You're such an inspiration Nigel! I have ordered my first gurdy - a Robert Mandel Symphonie - which I will receive in January 2022. This is to dip my toe in the water and if all goes well perhaps I will get myself one with more strings in the fullness of time. Great playing and feel on this. By the way, I'm currently working on a version of your Halsway carol on my dulcister (kind of a cross between a cittern and dulcimer). It works really well!

I'm a pianist by trade but love folk music. I've played Scottish fiddle and recently got a hurdy gurdy! Wondering if there's any sheet music available - either for sale, or free downloads? I would love to start learning/playing these tunes, they're fantanstic!

Another great piece. The drone sounds in B flat Do you have a mechanism on your vielle to change key or do you retune every string down ? I sometimes lower the frequency one tone down to play older (historic) tues, and the resutl is amazing. Probably resembling the original composition. Could you describe your amazing coup de poignet technique...thanks
