Writing this at 3 in the morning.

I find myself going back to this song every month or so. It resonates deeply with me and brings me to tears each time I listen to it. It's beautiful and full of so much emotion.

Shivers go through me when she finishes singing. Not a single person inside the entire place makes any noise for over 5 seconds after she finishes. Literally complete silence. Everyone stuck in their seat, processing what they've just witnessed. Before all simultaneously jumping up in unison for one of the loudest applauses I've ever heard.

She's a beautiful soul that has helped the lives of countless people, including mine.

Thank you and rest in peace Nightbirde.

I’m going through a lot right now but, this beautiful, courageous young woman has inspired so many people and when things get so bad that I don’t think I can go on, I listen to Nightbirde to remind myself that I must keep fighting. But, it kills me that she gave it everything she had. 😢We lost her much too young. I think of all of the music and spirit she took with her. Life just isn’t fair. 💔You are missed by millions. LIKE WHAT THE HELL (excuse my language) but honestly she went through all that and STILL went up there and sung her heart out. She has a beautiful voice, my heart from my country Mexico for her, I wish her much strength, blessings, encouragement and a lot of attitude to open this difficult cancer disease, I felt her heart in each letter of her song, God be with you and you manage to survive this disease and then only the memory remains, I am a cancer survivor for 5 long years and I know what it feels like, God gave me a new chance at life and I had to understand that even though my situation was more difficult, I got up with more strength, faith and my heart happy and grateful for the good and bad that happen, I call that being a winner!

Okay, but I have to say, she wrote this song years ago, before she was sick. Her original version had much more of a "pop" sound to it. She changed it into a ballad to perform on AGT. As for it being about the last year of her life... No comment. I think one kind thing that can be said about her, and truthful as well, is that she was a performer to the end.

Nightbird graced us all. Not only with her beautiful voice, her inspired song but the positivity she was trying to convey to us.
She came along when all the 'got talent' shows became all about sob stories over talent. But this angel had it all & I imagine that the majority of those who heard/watched her audition felt the true beauty she embodied & her tenacious spirit that is so timeless that many of us still feel today. She has no choice. This optimism is a survival mode. I felt like that when my mum was dying. You will either collapse and give up or try to hang onto any hope. It makes you understand what really matters and live in a moment. I pray that her 2% becomes 20%, and then 40% and then 80%.
