Murder
Nighthatred Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Summoning of my victim. I raise my arms and spoke the
Nine words. The Gate is yearning to open, and I whisper,
I scream again and again... And things mortal and
Immortal are changing, maimed and twisted by silverstream.
The lack of yearning may perverse the point, but
Now all must be completed. Again I reveal my knife as a
Tongues of freezing flame, ripping the universe, outgoing
Sending back the force. The cold dark fragments is
Drifting to the blade. Now we may KILL without fear, doupt
And pain, erasing the life of the screwed jesus' creatures.
Performing the one of the dark doings.
There are the part of blasphemy in it.
The lyrics to Nighthatred's "Murder" seem to illustrate the dark and sinister thoughts of the singer, who feels driven to commit unspeakable acts of violence. The first line speaks of a "disbalance of cosmic rewards" - a sense of unfairness or injustice in the world which, somehow, pushes the singer towards vampirism. The next line describes a ritualistic summoning of a victim, for which the singer recites a set of "Nine words." The singer seems to feel a sort of thrill or excitement at the prospect of unleashing some dark, unnamable force - "The Gate is yearning to open" - and repeats the phrase, "I scream again and again."
As the ritual progresses, the singer's surroundings begin to change in strange, unsettling ways. The phrase "maimed and twisted by silverstream" suggests a sense of violence or corruption spreading outwards, like a stream of molten silver. The singer notes that "things mortal and immortal are changing" - implying that some sort of boundary between the living and the dead, or the human and the supernatural, is being erased. As the singer's emotions and will are consumed by the force they have summoned, their sense of self seems to dissolve. The phrase "the cold dark fragments is drifting to the blade" suggests that the singer's essence is being transferred to the weapon they wield - perhaps as a way of channeling their power or amplifying their brutality.
Ultimately, the song seems to celebrate "dark doings" and "blasphemy." The singer feels no fear or doubt - only a craving for destruction, and a sense of satisfaction in the act of killing. The image of "erasing the life of the screwed jesus' creatures" is particularly striking - suggesting not only a desire to harm, but a sense of sacrilege or rebellion against a higher power.

I think that that's because the carpathians have the association with vlad the impaler, who led a pretty metal life. the carpathians lie mostly in romania. romania isn't particularly slavic. it has romanians, hungarians, and a few germans.
