You still awake? I should sleep, I know that, but there are friends here tonight that have been very far away for a very long time. I wonder what is remembered of those days long ago? This song has long been a favourite. Something about the innocence and the wounder. It set my mind free to remember something from long ago.
Have you ever thought just how connected all life might be deep behind the curtains of our minds? We all have bits of the puzzle I expect. The truth is there, hidden between the lines of science and religion. It is my belief that there are many mysteries that are all answered somewhere for us to find. Don't rely only on others to let us know the mystery that has brought us all to be. We have minds, use them. Despite what some say, you will not be cast aside for missing a step.
It was a man of science, one deep in the world of genetics that helped me see that all that is, all that we know, all that we don't understand, is far more than a collection of errors and happenstance. Oh, do not misunderstand me, by no means am I thinking this is all some master plan. I do not say our creation was a single swipe of a mystical hand. No, while I recognize our limitations in understanding even the slightest complexities of all, it would make all somehow pointless if it was laid out like a giant puzzle. Nothing so incredibly great as to create all known to us would demand we play out our lives simply to make such themselves feel rewarded by the fear, or love we have or the obedience we show. What would the link be? What is this link between something of pure energy and those of us stuck living out our lives as a part of such a great machine? What if all life, from the tiniest cell to the largest beasts plaid a role in, well everything? What if everything somehow had its part, its input in bringing about a continuance of life as they know it? I remember the epiphany when the good Professor suggested simply, for our DNA to get to the point it is today, despite the length of the journey, would be the equivalence of us all winning the lottery every second of every hour of every day, just for us to become who we are. No, true logic says somehow, somewhere, at some level, decisions are being made. Not great sweeping creations in such a flash, but tiny little nudges, triggers to make a small leap, a quantum move of a chessboard so infinite, but so comprehensive we would all feel the wind from the butterflies wings.
We, being human, will try to imagine just who this power is, and our history reflects our conception of God or gods of all sorts battling it out with the subordinate ones to manage this great machine of life. It is not important, nor my intent to say who is right or wrong. We are, after all, a very small part of a very old and complex universe. We do what we must to understand with a purpose, and despite the vast differences between us all in how we view such powers, we really may not be as far apart as we think we are. I imagine it makes it even more ironic that we will go to war against one another simply because what answers we've conjured up in our heads are different than others. That should not be something to die over, should it? Yet we do. You see, each cell is in its own right answering its questions, somehow sharing that with others of like kind, and eventually, all life can be moved to act as one if the answers all align. If by chance we are all gone tomorrow, I suspect that the records of all our decisions will be held somewhere, waiting for those after us to find the need to learn all there is to know and all that is needed to ensure the existence of life in some form. Perhaps that is the beauty of it all, the entire matrix of all the complexities of all life existing can simply be divided down to the single answer of a single sell that awakened in our creator(s).
So that is just something to think upon when you have some free time. It was told to me by Jax as I would not have had the time to think it up myself.
