So they can “like” it ‘till your life is a trend
Said when I was growing up I always knew I’d be famous
Pixel perfect share it again
Take it make it pretty post it up on your page
And now you’re all about how you’re all the rage
See not everybody got what you got
But anybody here can blow up
Take it make it pretty post it up and the folks
Binge watch it like their favorite show
Living lit, my latest pic
Is a digital litmus
In a pixel perfect world I’m a pro
Watch what we can do
Feel me when I’m feeling for you
I know that you know, you already knew
That you can be pixel perfect too
Watch what I can do
Feel me when I’m feeling for you
I know that you know, you already knew
That you can be p-p-pixel perfect too
I’m p-p-pixel perfect
Watch me work it
Take it make it pretty post it tell all your friends
So they can “like” it ‘till your life is a trend
Take it make it pretty post it tell all your friends
So they can “like” it ‘till your life is a trend
Take it make it pretty, take it make it pretty
Take it make it pretty post it up on your page
Take it make it pretty, take it make it pretty
That pixel perfect world, world is a stage
Watch what we can do
Feel me when I’m feeling for you
I know that you know, you already knew
That you can be pixel perfect too
Watch what I can do
Feel me when I’m feeling for you
I know that you know, you already knew
That you can be p-p-pixel perfect too
I’m p-p-pixel perfect
Watch me work it
In Nikki M. James's song "Perfect," the lyrics explore the pressure to present a perfect image of oneself on social media. The song talks about how people take their pictures, edit them and then post them to get as many likes and shares as possible, which eventually turns their lives into a trend. Nikki sings about how she knew she would be famous when she was growing up, and now in the age of social media, becoming famous is quite easy - just take a perfect picture, make it pretty, post it and share it!
The song highlights the idea that we are all living in a pixel-perfect world and people are so keen on showcasing their perfect world, even if it's not real. They are living in a digital world, where they believe what they post on social media is their reality. The song's catchy rhythms, along with its thought-provoking lyrics, make listeners think about how social media is influencing their lives and how they are succumbing to this digital pressure to present the best version of themselves to the world.
Overall, "Perfect" is a brilliant commentary on the concept of perfection, and how social media has become a platform for people to present a false image of themselves to the world.
