moonbeam
Nilsson Lyrics

Have you ever watched a moonbeam
As it slid across your windowpane
Or struggled with a bit of rain
Or danced about the weather vane
Or sat along a moving train
And wondered where the train has been

Or on a fence with bits of crap
Around its bottom
Blown there by a wind beam
Who searches for the moonbeam
Who was last seen

Looking at the tracks
Of the careless wind beam
Or moving to the clacks
Of the tireless freight train
And lighting up the sides

Of the weather vane
And the bits of rain
And the windowpane
And the eyes of those
Who think they saw what happened...

Have you ever watched a moonbeam
As it slid across your windowpane
Or struggled with a bit of rain
Or danced about the weather vane
Or sat along a moving train
And wonder where the train has been?

Looking at the tracks
Of the careless wind beam
Or moving to the clacks
Of the tireless freight train

And lighting up the sides
Of the weather vane

And the bits of rain
And the windowpane
And the eyes of those
Who think they saw what happened...?

Yep
Its been one of "those" days .......
And so? I'm here (again)

If ur wondering WHAT is the kind of day (for me) that brings me to YouTube to hear some old songs like Harry's? In a nutshell, lemme just say I'm referencing the kind of day &/or moments which I (sincerely) HATE that ANYBODY has ๐Ÿ˜ž

When I was a kid, my older sister, Sandy got this album for Christmas one year. She played that album ALL the time, but especially on Saturdays & Sundays when our folks weren't home & us three girls were left to do what were seemingly endless lists of chores & housecleaning. Sandy ALWAYS played this album .... EVERY weekend .... over MANY years. We were kids, so of course we'd laugh hysterically when "Breaking my Heart" played, lol. Altho the youngest of us was 10yrs younger than the oldest, Sandy, and she likely knew nothing of the word "fuck" beyond our advising her the word MUST NEVER be said (or sung) when ANYBODY other than us was around .... including .... no, ESPECIALLY our parents !
Lmao
sigh ..... the good ole days ๐Ÿ˜€ ......

Despite the 6yrs between us, we were close: my older sister and I. Very. Especially by the time I hit my late 20's, because w/out hesitation, anybody whom knew either myself or San (I called her San, not Sandy), knew we were each other's best friend.
Can't think of or remember a time when either of us experienced ANYTHING either very great - or the opposite - when either of us DIDN'T goto the other FIRST ..... you know .... whether to share in the utter excitement OR drown in tears ......

Always knew that no matter WHAT happens in my Life, my big sis would BE THERE. That happens to mean a LOT MORE than one typically understands or "gets" -> @ least in regards to two daughters of IMMENSELY DYSFUNCTIONAL parents .... & family: the kind of dysfunctional dynamic that can/does fuck up a person in so many ways that one finds themself seeking/recieving therapy for in their 50's

* sigh *

Welp?
My sister is gone
Grief does NOT EVEN BEGIN to describe what the loss feels like after one such as us dies ..... especially given the why & how it is that she is gone & I am not.

Another understatement ?
Pissed I'm still here .....

Anyhoo ?
Most aware of the situation, or us, believe I handled everything well & am okay. Altho they've ZERO idea why I am who/how I am now -> or what "broke" me .... most have ZERO ABILITY to percieve how I DIDN'T just "break" one day in some culmination of ONE TOO MANY experiences over a lifetime to overcome ...... only that I absofuckinglutely AM PERMANENTLY BROKEN ...... and that/how my deterioration became exponential after my sister's loss: ALL they saw ....or rather, all they wanted to see , was how I "was there" for our mother & remaining family in the immediate aftermath of the death of my sister .... and afterwards .....

Nah, I merely knew on THAT day that/how I was forever left 2B on my own/alone. Despite having an ex & (adult) children living with me, I was forced to go it alone .... always now .....

So?
Been 10yrs
If/when something happens that reminds me of my sis, or on her Bday or on Christmas, or whenever ..... even tho I've NOT even put up a tree for - or been awake on - Christmas .... when I CAN'T shake thinking of her: I come here to YouTube & listen to songs ๐Ÿ˜‰

Here, alone in my room/bed
.... like these Harry Nilsson songs ......
and ALWAYS "spaceman" ๐Ÿ˜Œ
..... & cry

I'm SO MAD at her for leaving .... me ๐Ÿคฌ

I remember when we were kids ..... and cleaning .... and singing our hearts out & laughing.

She'd be 63 today
Except .... she's not ๐Ÿ˜”

..... think I'll listen to "Coconut" next ..... ๐Ÿ˜

Another beautiful sweet song of this man's genius.

Leeman

Those of us here are but a tiny part of this silly world, and we are they who feel more deeply than most others. This song is for the child inside who still lives and hopes for dreams to come true.
