Endless Nameless
Nirvana Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Silence
Here I am
Here I am
Silent

Bright and clear
It's what I am
I have
Died

Mother
Mother
Mother
Mother

Death
And violence
Excitement
Right here

Died
Go to hell
Here I am
Right here

Ow

No mas
No mas
No mas
mama

Death
Is what I am
Go to hell
Go to jail

In back of that
Crime
Here I am
Take a chance
Dead

Die

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Nirvana's song Endless Nameless are a series of disjointed, seemingly random phrases that touch on themes of silence, death, and violence. The song starts with the repetition of the word "silence" followed by the singer affirming their existence. The second line appears to be a nihilistic statement about the meaninglessness of existence. The third line echoes the second but with an added emphasis that the singer has "died."

The next part of the song involves the singer calling out to "Mother" four times, which could be a reference to their own mother or a cry out to a mother figure for help. The following lines include more explicit references to death and violence, with the singer stating that they are both "death" and "excitement." The phrase "go to hell" is repeated twice, and may be a reference to the singer's state of mind or the world at large.

The final lines of the song are a bit more cryptic, with the phrase "no mas" repeated three times, which translates to "no more" in Spanish. This could be a statement of surrender or resignation. The rest of the lines continue to reference death and crime, with the singer uttering a final word "die."

It’s amazing what Kurt Cobain did, his use of unintentional cords and notes and feedback played a great roll in his sound.
He could take cords, which in music theory are not harmonious yet he made them sound so.
His music was a major inspiration to a lot of bands and it was also his stage performance which was a factor in his reverence.
Kurt was someone who was greatly creative and intelligent and this spoke through his music.
His album In Utero was a perfect example of his talent, such songs as Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge And Serve The Servants give a prime example of his ability.
The control he had over his feedback in Serve The Servants as well as the raw power of his solo where second to none and made one feel invigorated.
astounding just how great of a musician he was.
Also the album Bleach was a testament to his writing capabilities, he used great progressions and each song was well written, the use of power cords in his music was a way to add raw energy to his music, a power cord is the main basis to a lot of music and Kurt was the first to apply this cord prevalently.
He was a master at his craft and a creative and musical genius.
God speed Kurt Cobain.
