Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Nirvana's song Molly's Lips describe the infatuation and admiration the singer has for someone named Molly. Molly is portrayed as a confident and adventurous person who promises to take the singer anywhere they want to go, as long as they stay clean. The song suggests a desire to escape from something, and Molly is the key to that escape. The repeated phrase "Kiss kiss, Molly's lips" adds to this idea of escape and recklessness, as though the singer is willing to do anything to experience the freedom that Molly represents.

The song was originally written by Eugene Kelly of the Scottish band The Vaselines, and Kurt Cobain was a fan of their music. Nirvana's cover of the song was released as a single in 1991 and later included on the album Incesticide. The song's popularity helped introduce The Vaselines' music to a wider audience.

Alright, now I just need to find this Molly person.

@jamieryandowney9880

Google "Molly Weir." According to Eugene, the song is about a character from a TV Show called Rentaghost, and the witch on the show was played by Molly Weir. wiki says "It was written by the Scottish band The Vaselines about Molly Weir, according to band member Eugene Kelly, presumably because her Rentaghost television character Hazel McWitch typically appeared in whiteface with emphatic red lips."
