Negative Creep
Nirvana Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

This is out of our reach, this is out of our reach
This is out of our reach and it's grown
This is getting to be, this is getting to be
This is getting to be drone

I'm a negative creep, I'm a negative creep
I'm a negative creep and I'm stoned
I'm a negative creep, I'm a negative creep
I'm a negative creep and I'm, I'm

Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more
Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more
Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more
Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more
Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more
Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more

Yeah

Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more
Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more

Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Nirvana's song "Negative Creep" paint a picture of a person who is struggling with some internal issues. The opening lines of the song speak of something that is "out of our reach" and "getting to be drone," suggesting a sense of helplessness and monotony. The repetition of "I'm a negative creep" seems to indicate a sense of self-loathing, and the lines "Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more" suggest a loss of innocence or a betrayal of trust.

On a deeper level, the song can be interpreted as a commentary on the state of society and the individual's struggle to find meaning in a chaotic and oppressive world. The repeated refrain of "this is out of our reach" can be seen as a metaphor for the limitations imposed by society, while the images of being stoned and a negative creep suggest a sense of alienation and hopelessness.

Overall, "Negative Creep" is a powerful expression of the anxieties and frustrations of the human experience, particularly in the face of societal pressures and the search for self-identity.

Seriously, especially with really loud speakers and marijuana

@etnbtlh

It was so damn raw but good. And it sounded better live. (This was better than in 91 at the Paramount)

I felt the same way when I was 15. This is not an insult. My tastes have changed but I still love this song. It is interesting how my favorite Nirvana songs have changed over the years. Right now I am really enjoying Lounge Act, but I think Aneurysm is my long standing favorite.

One of the great things about Nirvana is that they didn't just play their hits, but all their songs.
