I wrote a paper on this song in college. Heavy stuff. This song would never be accepted today. Back in the 90s people understood intentions behind songs like this and that the realness and brutal truth was intentional, to fuel anger and discomfort on purpose. No one was supposed to agree with the speaker in the song - that was the whole point. Cobain was such a gem ❤

I knew intuitively that Polly was a dark song. Some use songs and music to ease their mind, and that can sometimes result in listening to a song that insinuates real life events.
