She is the current touring guitarist for Alice Cooper and has a successful career as a solo artist. Strauss was the first female signature artist with Ibanez guitars and is regularly featured on the covers of worldwide print magazines including Guitar World and Guitar Player. She was ranked No. 1 on Guitar World's list of "10 Female Guitar Players You Should Know".

Strauss started touring with her own band Lia-Fail as a teenager, leaving high school in her junior year to pursue music full time; the band included future world champion boxer Mikaela Mayer. Although initially known for her work with Iron Maiden all-female tribute band The Iron Maidens, Strauss' career has included performing with several rock ensembles including Consume the Fire, Femme Fatale, and the video-game supergroup Critical Hit.

In 2014, Strauss was the official in-house guitarist for the Los Angeles Kiss (LA KISS), the arena football team owned by Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons of KISS. The house band played the national anthem and provided additional music during the games.

In June 2014, Strauss was hired to replace Orianthi as Alice Cooper's touring guitarist for the remaining 2014 tour dates. She has toured with Alice Cooper since that time.

In April 2018, Strauss launched a Kickstarter campaign for her debut solo record 'Controlled Chaos'.

In October 2021 she shared "'Dead Inside", her first new solo music since the release of her debut album.

Nita will release her sophomore solo album, ""'The Call Of The Void", on July 7, 2023.

Nita Strauss has recruited a vocalist named Kasey Karlsen to join her onstage during the guitarist's upcoming "Summer Storm" tour.

this sounds amazing, how have I never heard of her? Heard the new track on Liquid Metal and had to look her up. This is really great, and I will for sure pick up the album. This is exactly the kind of music I wish I was on the level to play. The mix isn't really great though for a solo artist, the guitar seems more compressed than you would see with something from Devon Townsend or Marty Friedman.

Great track! Why is the lead guitar mixed soooo low though? It's occupying the central role in all of this, don't understand why it's being drowned out by literally every other instrument in the mix.

I like Nita's playing a lot. She is an awesome guitar player. I've been following her for a while and think Josh is a great guy and he definitely is a talented drummer but the drum is too over the top and the mix puts it in front of the guitar. I feel like it's all I hear and it will actually prevent me from buying the album. In smoother portions of the song, I can actually focus on the guitar even though the mix isn't good but in full attack mode the drum totally pushes me away from the song. I will definitely keep following you guys, but after listening to a few songs it's a miss for me this time around as far as album goes.
