1). Nixon, from Halmstad, Sweden, is a project of Roger Gunnarsson (Free Loan Investments, The Garlands, Cloetta Paris...), and perhaps the one he is best known for. Gunnarsson began recording songs as Nixon with his cousin when he was a child in the mid 1980s. Some time later in the mid 1990s, he and friend Henrik Påhle recorded a Nixon demo which caught the attention of a few labels in their native Sweden and North America. Following a few EP releases, Nixon made their full-length debut with Only Ugly People Smoke in 2000, which also featured vocal and songwriting contributions from Anna Issakson. Gunnarsson continued to make Nixon records, now mostly alone, into the 21st century. A second full-length appeared in 2002 entitled November 1985 but after the Snow Day EP the following year, the project went on an unoffical hiatus and Gunnarsson continued to work with his other bands. In 2011, a new Nixon compilation of previously released material entitled Anorak Christmas came out on Anorak Records of France. The sleevenotes of this release announced that there would be a Nixon 7" EP of brand new recordings released on Cloudberry Records. This record eventually surfaced in late 2012 and is entitled This Town.

Previously known as Scaramusa, the band currently consists of Alex (lead vocals, guitar) Daniel Girona (lead guitar), Pedro Gil (drums, percussion, synthesizers), Juanmi (guitars, synthesizers), and Sergio (bass, synthesizers and backing vocals).

The quintet has toured widely throughout Spain supporting acts such as Second, Ninos Mutantes and Full. Following a two-year tour, the band released in 2006 it's full-length studio album titled El Ultimo Fuego after a successful crowdfunding campaign. This record made the band earn an unique sound by the use of synthesizers and analog drum machines.

They received attention due to their appearance in Los Conciertos de Radio3, reaching a huge audience with their performance at the 20th anniversary of Sonorama Ribera festival, Weekend Beach or Granada Sound among many others.

Alongside their critical acclaim and promising future, Nixon has found its place as an emerging act necessary in the Spanish music scene. Their brand of dark indie rock is commonly compared to the sound of bands such as Depeche Mode, Foals and U2.

Yes, I was there too. It happened right in front of me. Otis even threw me a ball between innings during warm ups. I told him to make a catch for me just before this inning and he said ok. Then after he threw the ball in he turned around and pointed to me and said that was for you.

I was about 10 at the time, but watched it on my home television and was amazed. I can remember watching Otis steal numerous bases, and make numerous solid plays. He was definitely part of the Braves success.

yep, this "play"...i say play instead of just "catch" because he has to track this ball full speed running as soon as the ball comes off the bat hes running full speed tracking it, and otis was superfast too so he tracks it down first, then times it at the end once he thinks hes tracked it perfect, then jumps while timing a footplant off the wall and jumping and extending again for the perfect one one millionth of a second that ball is falling past the wall and goes over the wall and snags it. it took perfect timing on soooo many levels for that catch to happen. that is the single best home run robbery imo ever and probably the best catch ever made. jim edmonds made a couple unbelieveable catches but the fact that this is robbing a homerun makes it better and much harder because of the fact of having to time when u have to reach over the wall. hands down , i just decided, best catch in history ever

Was at this game in the upper deck out past 1st base, so I had a bird's-eye view. Everyone knew it was a homerun. Otis stunned all! People forget that this was a 10-foot wall, not some little six-foot job. They showed the play over and over on the jumbo-tron. Finally, on about the 5th replay, Otis turned around, looked up and watched it himself. On the bus ride back downtown after the game, it's all anybody was talking about. I Googled it just to see if this play is online... and show-nuff!

I can never watch this without grinning from ear to ear. One of the best robs ever. Most stadiums have short walls now, most robs aren't even impressive when the fielder only has to hop to get his glove over the wall.

I'm from Pittsburgh, and I remember watching this catch live when I was about 8. Van Slyke was a huge fan favorite here in the 'Burgh and I felt so bad for him. But at the same time, what a hell of a catch by Nixon. You could see the imprint from his spikes on the wall.

I'm 68 years old and have been watching baseball a LONG time, and there are two moments in baseball history that I can still see plain as day and as far as I'm concerned should be at the top of THE list. One is Kirk Gibson's homerun in 1988 and the other is The Catch. I was watching both when they happened and I can still remember my shock. I was a Braves fan, so The Catch was major because of the Braves standings. Gibson's homerun was absolutely a fairy tale. I'll never forget it.

If Nixon doesn't make this catch, the Braves and Pirates finish with the same record(97-65) and the same head-to-head record(6-6). It's possible that Game 7 of the '92 NLCS (When Sid Slid) is in Pittsburgh instead of Atlanta. It's possible that Pittsburgh goes to the '92 World Series instead of Atlanta. It's Possible that Bonds and Bonilla stick around in Pittsburgh and Baseball history is changed.

No it isn't, because home-field advantage back then alternated by division winner. The 1991 NLCS gave Pittsburgh home-field because it was the East's turn; in 1992, it was the West's turn, so Atlanta got it. In 1993, Atlanta was several games better than Philly but the East got home-field advantage. This game had nothing to do with that.

Until the wild card was introduced in 1995, home field advantage in the league championship series of 1969 to 1993 alternated between the divisions, regardless of their champions' records. This game had no effect on where the 1992 NLCS would be played.

It had been in place since the advent of LCS play in 1969. Sid Bream's slide into home to eliminate the Pirates and send us to the World Series! The thrilling 1-0 win against the Indians to win the World Series with Justice's solo shot and Glavine's masterful pitching. Kent Merker's no hitter. The "Don Sutton" permanent wave lol. I’d never seen an outfielder do that - plant a cleat in the wall and elevate. The Braves had only one hit that night but it was a David Justice home run, and they won 1-0. They were only two games ahead of the Reds in the NL West and it was a big win.

I was there at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium with my dad at the age of 7 when this happened. He got tickets through his firm that day. I got home from school and he said, "Get ready, we're going to the game." Thiis is pretty much the greatest moment of my childhood.

I was 8 years old living in Hawaii at the time, my dad and I watching the game on TV like we always did, mom was asleep on the couch. The ball leaves the bat and dad and I are like well that’s out of here then Otis does what seems like the impossible. Dad and I both jump up and scream in unison “He caught it!”, mom startled awake and rolls off the couch on to the floor thinking something was seriously wrong due to all the noise we were making, dad and I shared a laugh. This is why Baseball is and will always be the greatest game in the world.

Someone please tell me how this is never considered one of the all time greatest catches, if not the greatest. The man climbs up the wall without looking at it so he never takes his eyes off of the ball.

Greatest catch of all time, that wall was 10 feet tall, most homerun saving catches are on 6 or 8 foot fences

+Harry Engel Andruw Jones's "Spider Man" catch against Houston in 1999 is better than Mays', Wise's, and perhaps even this one.

After the game, Otis took that ball to Andy Van Slyke to get him to sign it and Andy just walked away. A home run is nice, but Otis' amazing catch is once-in-a-lifetime and Van Slyke should have been a better sport about it.
