Parasol
Niza Lyrics

...

Tuvimos buenos momentos.
Puedes verlos en las fotos del salón.

Overall Meaning

In Niza's song, "Parasol," the singer is wearing a sweater that her partner bought her on a past trip. She wonders if her partner will even notice the detail during their upcoming date. The singer is tired of waiting for her partner to come back, feeling like time has stopped since their departure. The arrival of January only adds to the frustration of waiting. The singer questions why this always happens to her and how her partner can pretend to be happy when they embrace.

The lyrics illustrate feelings of frustration and sadness, highlighting the struggles of waiting for someone to come back. The sweater symbolizes a past memory that the singer wishes she could go back to. The line "Ya lo se, se pasa el tiempo" (I know, time goes by) emphasizes the inevitability of change and how time can alter relationships. The song concludes with the singer asking her partner to explain why they are no longer happy together and acknowledging that they had good moments.

One interesting fact about "Parasol" is that it was released in 2021 as part of Niza's debut EP, "Hydra." The EP covers themes of self-conflict, relationships, and anxiety. Niza is a Spanish indie-pop artist based in Madrid. The song was co-written with Jorge Nexer and produced by Pablo Cebrián. The EP was recorded between Madrid, London, and LA, showcasing Niza's international influences. The EP features six tracks, four of which introduce new songs. The EP has been described as an intimate project that allows the listener to get to know Niza better. Other notable songs on the EP include "Sáma" and "Daisychains."
