Por La Noche
Niza Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Hoy nadie llamó
Hace calor, ya sale el sol, siempre es igual
Como un aviador
En soledad viajo sin rumbo por tu amor

Escribo mil cartas
Para no enviarlas y al final
Miro las estrellas
Quiero irme con ellas
Para ver como nadas en el mar

Miro sin hablar
Cuando te veo que las cosas te van mal
Es mucho mejor
Que convertir una sonrisa en mal humor

Miro las estrellas
Quiero irme con ellas y volar
Hacia mil lugares

En mis sueños polares
Para ver como nadas en el mar

Overall Meaning

In Niza's song "Por La Noche," the lyrics hint at a sense of loneliness and yearning for love. The opening line, "Hoy nadie llamó" (today no one called), creates a feeling of isolation, followed by the statement that it's always the same, as if stuck in a rut. The metaphor of being like a pilot flying aimlessly without direction seems to represent the singer's feeling of drifting through life without a clear goal, except for the pursuit of love.

The next stanza reflects the singer's desire for romantic expression, writing letters they never send, gazing at the stars in contemplation, and wishing to be among them. The phrase "Para ver como nadas en el mar" (To see how you swim in the sea) could either be interpreted literally, imagining someone they care about swimming, or more abstractly, meaning to see someone they love conquer life's rough seas.

The last stanza seems to convey the singer's desire to provide comfort to someone dear to them, wishing to be there for them without being imposing, represented in the line "Es mucho mejor que convertir una sonrisa en mal humor" (It is much better than turning a smile into bad mood). Once again, the stars represent a symbol of escape and freedom from mundane existence.

Overall, "Por La Noche" showcases Niza's ability to craft poetic expressions that touch on universal themes of love, longing, and loneliness.
