Consisting of Gust (guitar/vocals), Paul Pulvirenti (drums), (initially) Gilly Ann Hanner (later replaced by Jim Talstra) and a changing roster of friends, the group produced the 1999 album "No Memory", an album which carried the style and tone of Heatmiser's final record, "Mic City Sons".
No Memory was followed up by the 2002 album "What Does Good Luck Bring?". After a lengthy hiatus, it was later revealed that the group had disbanded.
So Long
No. 2 Lyrics

The cold fever you kept in your clothes
Thunderclap of the door slam
I don't know where your memory goes
To some loose attachments
That mean less instead
When you ask me to accept you're already dead
Prisoner of a made up mind
The wrong kind of attention
The only part of it that's kind
A dead-bolt in a loose hole
Couldn't hold anyone back
When the temperature goes up from blue to black
I've never felt more helpless
When you say you're gone
Close your eyes and try to speak
Don't say so long
So fucking wrong
you keep trying to protect me
From something that you just can't say
Or keep me from connecting
Your long nights that bog down days
Get into the full sweat
Woke up walking alone
And no one in your the life has ever known
I've never felt more helpless
When you say you're gone
Close your eyes and try to speak
Don't say so long
I've never felt more helpless
When you say you're gone
Close your eyes and try to speak
The lyrics to No. 2's "So Long" seem to touch on themes of miscommunication, loss, and disconnection in a relationship. The opening lines indicate that the relationship may have been progressing positively, but some unknown factor has changed that. The "cold fever in your clothes" may refer to the sense of distance or emptiness that the singer feels coming from their partner. The following line, "Thunderclap of the door slam," suggests a sudden departure from the singer's life, leaving them confused and unsure of why their partner's memory seems to have disappeared.
The second verse goes on to describe the partner's attempts to protect the singer, but failing due to an inability or unwillingness to communicate fully with them. The "wrong kind of attention" may refer to outside pressures or influences on the relationship, which have caused a rift. The "dead-bolt in a loose hole" metaphorically represents the fragility of the relationship's connection, which even the strongest protection can't maintain.
The chorus repeats the singer's sense of helplessness and anxiety over their partner's departure, evoking both sadness and frustration. The line "Close your eyes and try to speak" seems to be a plea for communication, implying that the partner may have left without explaining why. Overall, the lyrics to "So Long" reflect on the ways in which relationships can fail due to a lack of communication and understanding, leaving both parties feeling powerless and alone.

Los acordes y arpegios de Rachmani
noff nos retrotraen en mucho a
Tchaiskovsky.
pasadas. Vayan al concierto número tres de Rachmaninoff.
