Excuse Me Mr.
No Doubt Lyrics
I'm like a beggar with no luck
I'm holding signs up on your street corner stops
Like most you try not to see me
Stare straight ahead, ignore the responsibility
Excuse me (excuse me, mister)
Well, I've been waiting in line
And I'd like to buy some of your time
I'm very anxious, eager, willing
What's your billing? (Anxious, eager, willing)
So please excuse me, mister
You've got things all wrong
You make it feel like a crime
So don't confuse me, mister
I've known you too long
All I need is a little of your time
Oh
For most, love comes for free
They don't pay the high cost of mental custody
I'll pay bail for a guarantee
Make space for me in the time yet to be
Excuse me (excuse me, mister)
Well, I've been waiting in line
And I'd like to buy some of your time
I've been saving up my life
What's your price? (Saving up my life)
So please excuse me, mister
You've got things all wrong
You make it feel like a crime
So don't confuse me, mister
I've known you for too long, boy
All I need is a little of your time
What should I do? I'm about to crack
And there's a force that comes over me
It's almost as if I'm tied to the tracks
I'm waiting for him to rescue me
The funny thing is, he's not going to come
He's not going to find me
This is a matter of a fact, the desire you lack
This is the way I guess it has to be
A Little of your time
I need a little of your time
Please, a little of your time, yeah
So please excuse me, mister
You've got things all wrong
You make it feel like a crime
So don't confuse me, mister
I've known you for too long boy
All I need is a little of your time
Ooh, I'm in line to buy time
I'm in line to buy time
I'm in line to
I'm in line to
Excuse me
Well, I've been waiting in line
Excuse me
Excuse me, mister

"Excuse Me Mr." is the fourth single by rock band No Doubt from their third album Tragic Kingdom (1995).
The song was originally composed on the acoustic guitar, and two versions were recorded: one with country and folk influence, one with punk rock influence. Producer Matthew Wilder preferred the former, and the other, which the band preferred, was lost in a studio accident. The studio pressed No Doubt to use the folk version on Tragic Kingdom, but the band refused to record "Spiderwebs" Read Full Bio"Excuse Me Mr." is the fourth single by rock band No Doubt from their third album Tragic Kingdom (1995).

Do people understand how amazing and progressive this band was? This was a band with a girl front man who wrote awesome songs about feminist issues that were good enough to make anyone listen. The music by itself is amazing, Gwen's lyrics are a perfect compliment and the videos explain the lyrics perfectly. She's a woman at the forefront of the woman's lib movement who calls attention to the fact that she's treated better then her band mates. This is the example you give your daughter. Be Gwen. Be an absolute bad ass who rocks but don't for a moment think that being a woman in a man's game is nothing. Realize who you are and the world around you. Realize you're being promoted because your sexy and don't hit people over the head with it. You're sexy and exploited because you are but that doesn't make you scared of being sexy. No Doubt paved the way for so much music. It's just not fair that they understood who they where while they changed everything

Gwen is just an awesome lady. She is easily one of the best woman frontmen of all time

@Sweh'yah T wow, you sound like a really fun person. You know it’s people like you (I’m sorry I put the qualifier of people when describing you) that are turning our society into such an uptight bunch of cry babies. We live in a world made up of men and women. It is a trait we use to categorize frequently, and not in a bigoted way, but because men and women are different. I bet you’re the type appalled there are separate categories for men and women at award shows. Best actor, or best actress. The qualification of race is a completely different approach, and one I find unnecessary. I wound never say “best white women frontman” because that’s insane. Color has no place in that, that would be bigoted. And if you want me to take the gender categorization away from this, then maybe I do not believe her to be one of the best. I am rightfully allowed to have that opinion, because it is in no way based on gender, rather skill. Wow, just wanting to argue about such a minor distinction. It’s almost like you’re purposely trying to start an argument where one is not needed. 9 years I have this comment up, not one person complained until your winey ass came. Go start arguments and complain about important subjects.

@Zdawg83 no YOU are saying that now 9yrs later. What i said was clear about you initial caviat that she is among the best of frontmen with the quality of being a woman. Meanwhile, for dummies, what i hoped to communicate, admittedly needlessly late, is that it was douchably unnecessary to include her obvious gender not just because it is obvious but also because she is so much better than most front persons of either/any gender that it makes no sense to add any qualification beit gender or anything else. For example as a POC i could say shes great for a White person and arguably all pop music and "Fronting" bands is derrived from Black culture and performance but regardless Gwen if she had gifted musicality about her vocals could stand among even black frontwomen so it is needless to mention any additinal qualification for her elite performance ability. #NEVERdebateaPUBLISHEDneurolinguisticpsychologyresearcher #jackass

@Sweh'yah T You're saying I'm a douche for saying that Gwen is a women?
