The band’s moody, interlocking guitars and ethereal vocals allowed them to fit on bills with bands as diverse as Wavves, Harvey Milk, and Besnard Lakes. Meanwhile, Mexican Summer signed No Joy and issued their self-titled 7", which was produced by Miracle Fortress' Graham Van Pelt in 2010. The band expanded to a four-piece and enlisted the Raveonettes' Sune Rose-Wagner to mix their full-length album, Ghost Blonde, which was released in November 2010.
Their second album Wait To Pleasure was released in April 2013 to critical acclaim.
No Joy followed up Wait To Pleasure with an EP released November 5 2013 entitled "Pastel and Pass Out"

Everything New
No Joy Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴
Don't try to hide it
You're made out of nothing
Destroyed and divided
You're left with nothing
But time will subside
Don't try and fight him
He's forked like a wicked path
He's gone and he's not coming back
Anything you wanted
Everything you had
In the first verse of "Everything New" by No Joy, the lyrics "Time will subside, don't try to hide it" suggest that the passage of time cannot be avoided or ignored. It is a natural force that cannot be controlled. The line "You're made out of nothing, destroyed and divided" could be interpreted as a reflection on one's existence being temporary and fragile. It conveys a sense of vulnerability and insignificance in the grand scheme of things.
The following line, "You're left with nothing, but time will subside," implies that even though we may feel empty or devoid of meaning, time will eventually pass and bring about change. The lyrics continue with "Don't try and fight him, he's forked like a wicked path," suggesting that trying to resist the passage of time is futile. Time, like a twisted and treacherous path, cannot be tamed or controlled.
The next line, "Won't find where he's hiding, he's gone and he's not coming back," further emphasizes the idea that time is elusive and uncontrollable. It cannot be pinpointed or caught. This could also imply that moments or opportunities once gone cannot be retrieved or reclaimed. It speaks to the permanence of time's passage and the importance of seizing the present.
The final lines, "Anything you wanted, everything you had," can be interpreted as an acknowledgment of the ephemeral nature of desires and possessions. No matter what one desired or possessed in the past, time has a way of rendering them insignificant or transient. It suggests a realization that material things and personal ambitions may ultimately hold little value in the face of the ceaseless flow of time.
Overall, these lyrics from "Everything New" evoke a contemplation of the transient nature of existence, the inability to control time, and the significance of seizing the present moment. They invite reflection on the impermanence of desires and possessions while emphasizing the inevitable passage of time and the need to come to terms with it.

Time now, summer side
Time now, summer side
Time now, summer side
Don't try and fight it
Be at another beat
Strolling bottom
You left nothing
Time now, summer side
Time now, summer side
Time now, summer side
Don't try to find
For that wicked path
Find where it's hiding
Guy's not coming back
Don't try to find
Be at another beat
Strolling bottom
You left nothing
Time now, summer side
Time now, summer side
Time now, summer side
Don't try to find
For that wicked path
Find where it's hiding
Guy's not coming back
Every day you'll want it done
Everything new, everything new
Every day you'll want it done
Everything new, everything new
Don't try to…

Absolutely blown away by this band, my favourite new discovery. Can't help thinking the vocals are a little high in the mix on this track, and wishing the guitars were SO much louder. I'm sure that would be remedied live, however. Can't wait to see them.

@adam kay the girls were together in a band called Bad Flirt which i just discovered. it is more alt. pop rock but if you like her voice and the guitars you should check them out. i love it.
