This sound, you my brother
It′s not in your hand
Not in gold, not for trading
It's just a woman, just a man
They are just walking hand in hand
They need an equal fight (yeah)
Come on, set them free
Come on, start to thinking
Come on, set them free
Come on, start thinking
Far from the stars
It′s a song for my brother
It's not in my hands
Not for gold, not for trading
It's just a woman, just a man
They are just walking hand in hand
They need an equal fight (yeah)
Come on, set them free
Come on, start to thinking
Come on, set them free
Come on, start thinking
Come on, set them free
Come on, start to thinking
Come on, set them free
Come on, start thinking
It′s written in red, in black
And down the crossroads, I′ll come around
I'll burn the fire ′cause I crossed the line
Ain't got no money to pay my bills
I′ll shake it to the river
I'll shake it all night
I′ll shake it to the river
You need your equal rights (yeah)
Come on, set them free
Come on, start to thinking
Come on, set them free
Come on, start thinking
Come on, set them free
Come on, start to thinking
Come on, set them free
Come on, start thinking
The song "Brother" by No Money Kids is a passionate call for social justice and equal rights. The song talks about a woman and a man who are simply walking hand in hand, and highlights the need for everyone to have an equal fight to be free. The lyrics urge the listener to start thinking and to set them free. The song highlights the fact that freedom and equality are not for trading or something that can be bought with money or power.
The lyrics refer to the fact that the message is not just for the artist's brother but for all people who are facing social injustices. The singer acknowledges that he cannot change the world by himself, but calls upon everyone to start thinking and to come together to fight for the equal rights of all people. The repetition of the phrase "Come on, set them free" and "Come on, start thinking" emphasizes the urgency of the situation and the need for immediate action.
The final verse talks about the author crossing the line and going against the status quo, despite the fact that he has no money to pay his bills. The author will burn the fire, shake it to the river and shake it all night long. This is symbolic of the fire of resistance continuing to burn, despite the challenges of everyday life. The lyrics suggest that it is time for individuals to take action and fight for their rights, regardless of the economic and political obstacles they may face.
