2) an italian Hardcore band
If you think that nowdays hardcore is all about hair locks, rimmel and deathmetal guitar riffs and that all the best bands of those days are gone you have to check out No More Fear.
Formed in 1997 in Busto Arsizio (North Italy), since then NMF play an intense, furious and straight up old school hardcore in vein of Ten Yard Fight, Chain of Strength, Ignite, Youth of Today, but with a more modern touch that gives them a high touch of personality.
The band proudly endorse and support a drug free and strictly vegetarian lifestyle and in their lyrics often find references to a cruelty free life and to the respect towards Gaia.
In 2002, after releasing Walkin On cd on Youth Crew Recs, the old singer left the band and a few months later Dan, singer of Product, became a solid part of NMF.
In following years No More Fear have constantly toured Europe playing lots of shows from the east to the western part. In april 15th 2004, after being appeared on lotsa compilations, a new record went out: One thing well share 7'' on Goodwill Recs, Circle Pit Recs and Lucifers Legions Recs.
It was the first release with Dan as vocalist: a total blast that has also been the disc of the week for over one month on the canadian Flex Your Head zine and has made NMF gain a higher level of popularity.
In march 2005 the so long awaited album was finally out! Packed with 12 songs of pissed off old school hardcore A Matter of Choice cd was released by Handprint Records (distributed exclusively by Goodwill Records), and later in july, the lp edition by Fields of Hope Recs and Hard to Break Recs.
A month later NMF left for their third European tour playing more shows in the eastern part of Europe.
2006 is one of most hardworking year for NMF. They played almost everywhere in Europe and in august they did their first U.S. tour playing shows around the east coast and the mid west.
At the moment the band is out of the scene due to some members' engagements.
BELIEVING
No More Fear Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And we stay here with pride
To say (to) you this message:BELIEVING!
At eighteen years old I've understood that my life must change
I started to approach a music not much known.
People dislike this sound but for me was friendly
Hardcore is a real life style
Now it's time to say (to) you two words:
Cause all are my friends
And people and the band that plays are the same thing.
You can shout with singer
And play stage-diving.
With these people and music it's impossible to (have) no fun.
It's a sort of music made with heart
And the only law is : stay unite believing in hardcore style
The lyrics to No More Fear's song "Believing" are an ode to the hardcore music scene that the band has embraced. The song is essentially a message to those who may not understand or appreciate the genre, stating that for those who are a part of it, hardcore is not just music but a way of life. The band delivers this message with pride, firmly declaring that they are committed to staying a part of the scene and believing in its principles.
The song includes the personal story of the vocalist, who shares that at the age of eighteen, they discovered hardcore music and found a sense of community among others who were drawn to it. Despite being a genre that may be unpopular with some, the vocalist found it to be friendly and welcoming. The lyrics also describe the intense and energetic atmosphere of a hardcore concert, where everyone in the crowd feels like friends and the line between the audience and the musicians is blurred. It is a collective experience that is impossible not to enjoy.
No More Fear's "Believing" is a celebration of the hardcore music scene and its followers. The band encourages others to open their minds and embrace the genre, which is more than just a style of music but a community that values unity and togetherness.
