We're all fighting it through the day
With one more obnoxious ass
That's raining on my parade
And God only knows where I'd be
Without you
To save me from disaster time and time again
We're two and together
We'll blaze a trail wherever we go
Somehow through all these years
I've managed it on my own
With you to stand by me now
I'll never have to show
All of the people that are trying to make a wreck
I'll leave the world behind me
I'll leave them and not look back
We'll blaze a trail wherever we go
Nobody's in our way so let's go
Right now
The lyrics to No Motiv's song "Savior" express the theme of gratitude for a trusted companion who saved the singer from disaster time and time again. The song celebrates the power of companionship and solidarity as the two vow to never be defeated and to blaze a trail wherever they go. The song opens with the frustration of dealing with obnoxious and annoying people and how this unnamed savior comes in to rescue the singer from the chaos of everyday life. The lyrics convey a sense of emotional vulnerability where the singer acknowledges their limitations and how this reliance on the savior saved them from the brink of collapse.
The song is also about celebrating the bond of friendship and never taking it for granted. The line "Somehow through all these years, I've managed it on my own" suggests that the singer has had to face these obstacles alone for a long time, but now they have someone to stand by their side in times of need. The chorus of "We'll blaze a trail wherever we go" highlights the spirit of adventure and willingness to face any challenge that comes their way. The song concludes with the vow to not look back and leave the world behind, indicating a sense of optimism and hope for the future.
Overall, the song conveys a strong sense of camaraderie and the power of companionship to help us overcome any obstacle.
