No Really Lyrics

Beginning of the End

Itβ€²s the beginning of the end, my friends
So let's down our drinks and have another dance
Why bother trying to save this world gone wrong?
Tip your hat, raise your glass, and say so long

Itβ€²s the beginning of the end, my friends
We were destined from the start to make a mess
We're paying now for sins from long ago
I know because the Bible told me so

But if you wake up tomorrow and the sun is in the sky
Won't you come out to find me and make sure Iβ€²m still alive
And weβ€²ll go out walking and we'll try to hitch a ride
On a boat to the city, where weβ€²ll party every night

It's the beginning of the end, my friends
The stars will fall, the seas will rise again
Canβ€²t change the world our parents left to us
So sit back and watch the cities self-destruct

It's the beginning of the end, my friends

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to "Beginning of the End" by No Really convey a sense of resignation about the state of the world and the inevitability of its downfall. The first verse encourages the listeners to enjoy themselves despite the impending doom, stating that there's no point in trying to save a world that has already gone wrong. The second verse suggests that humanity has been doomed from the start and is now facing the consequences of past wrongdoings. The reference to the Bible adds a sense of fatalism to the song, suggesting that the end is not just a result of human actions but part of a larger supernatural plan.

The chorus diverges from the theme of accepting defeat and instead expresses a desire to try to make the most of the time left. The singer wants to spend it with someone they care about and experience the pleasures of the world while they still can. The final verse brings us back to the theme of doom and destruction, stating that the end will come with catastrophes like falling stars and rising seas. The singer advises that instead of trying to change the world that has been left to them, they should sit back and watch as everything falls apart.

With its catchy melody and bittersweet message, "Beginning of the End" is a song that speaks to the feelings of many people experiencing uncertainty and insecurity about the world around them.

Black screen. An alarm clock goes off. Peter gets up out of bed and walks down his hallway. He brushes his teeth with his shirt off. Then in the next shot he gets a shirt on and walks into his living room. On the table is a few bottles of beer and an ashtray with multiple cigarettes. The TV is on already with the new saying spiderman still at large. Peter sighs. He walks over to his phone thing and presses for new messages. It's aunt may saying that she hopes they find that "freak Spider-Man"

Peter walks out his door, that has a foreclosure sign on it and opens his car back door, throwing a black trash bag into his back seat. He then gets in the car and starts it, pulling out of his driveway. (First 20 seconds)

A car pulls into an alley and the car stops. Peter gets out and goes in the back to grab the bag. With his bag now in hand, he walks over and throws the bag into a nearby trashcan. He hesitates a little bit before throwing it in. He walks away after throwing it in, showing the black bag sticking out and then Peter walking back to his car (similar to Spiderman no more comic book cover) (20 to 50 seconds)

A car slowly drives down a cemetery block, then stopping at the end of the block. (50 to 59 seconds)

It pans up from the back of a grave up to Peter who stands at the grave. He gets out a ring from his coat pocket, bending down and sitting it on the top of the grave. (1:00 to 1:10)

It cuts to a flashback of the ring on a girl's hand. His face stares at her grave and sheds a tear. Then again it flashes back but this time it's Spider-Man's hand grasping the same girl's hand with the ring on it as she lies dead on cement. (1:10 to 1:22)

Peter walks back to his car and gets in. He drives off. It shows a close up shot of the ring on the grave. (1:22 to 1:35)

Back at home, Peter arrives again. He
