Feels Like Home
No Use for a Name Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And it's too soon to say good-bye
Listen where ever you may be
You still live inside my mind
Something tells me that you are free again
In a place that feels like home
Why memories hold our hand
But people let go
of every thing
And keep on living like it's yesterday
The lyrics of "Feels Like Home" by No Use For A Name convey a sense of longing and reminiscence for someone who has passed away. The verses reflect a feeling of being unable to communicate with the person anymore, but still holding onto their memory in the mind. The lines "Something tells me that you are free again, In a place that feels like home" convey the sense that the person who has passed away may be at peace in another realm. The lyrics also express the idea that memories are difficult to let go of, and we often hold onto them as a means of preserving something that has been lost.
The song can be interpreted as a reflection on grief and the process of moving on after the loss of a loved one. The singer expresses a sense of confusion and difficulty in understanding why people can let go of things so easily and move on with their lives without dwelling on the past. The repetition of the phrase "It feels like home" also highlights the idea that home is not just a physical place, but a feeling that we carry with us wherever we go.
