Professor Chomsky is credited with the creation of the theory of generative grammar, often considered the most significant contribution to the field of theoretical linguistics of the 20th century. He also helped spark the cognitive revolution in psychology through his review of B. F. Skinner's Verbal Behavior, which challenged the behaviorist approach to the study of mind and language dominant in the 1950s. His naturalistic approach to the study of language has also affected the philosophy of language and mind. He is also credited with the establishment of the so-called Chomsky hierarchy, a classification of formal languages in terms of their generative power.
Along with his linguistics work, Chomsky is also widely known for his political activism, and for his criticism of the foreign policy of the United States and other governments. Chomsky describes himself as a libertarian socialist, a sympathizer of anarcho-syndicalism (he is a member of the IWW), and is often considered to be a key intellectual figure within the left wing of American politics.
According to the Arts and Humanities Citation Index, between 1980 and 1992 Chomsky was cited as a source more often than any living scholar, and the eighth most cited source overall.

Of course he’s oversimplifying but Britain is a US vassal without a doubt.
Britain was covertly in Vietnam due to difficulties of managing public perception in an overt engagement in a country were Britain had no sphere of influence. Mark Curtis has covered the declassified files on SAS engagement through deep seated subterfuge and deceit.
On Brexit, the US empire was divided between a pro EU faction (Democrats/Wall Street/East Coast elites/Big Tech) and an insurgent faction in the Republican wing of the US empire which actually provided financial and logistics support for Brexiteers. So, the leeway on Brexit was a result of an ongoing civil war in the US empire not a result of any meaningful agency on the part of the U.K.. This sort of schism happens in empires of old and is nothing new at all.

I think that this spot would be a good place to post my warning to all citizens of the world. Now that the Middle East War is just about completely over, I think it is important for people, especially U.S. citizens, to know where the U.S. Pentagon is now primarily focused on to look for the enemy or a national threat. It's right here in the U.S., and the defense industry and the intelligence agency and the military itself, through the help of an enormous amount of government contractors, are looking for people who they consider to be on the fringe of society and who is interested on restructuring society -- economically, politically, and socially. But they can't do anything to people for just speaking their mind, and so, what they basically do, is look very closely at all people with anti-establishment views and they look very hard for flaws and weaknesses in them. But in order to label them a potential threat to society and to put them on the federal watch list which I suspect would be impossible to get off of, the powers that be simply maligned and expanded the meaning of what constitutes a threat to society.
There is not a real threat coming from U.S. citizens, except for maybe a small group that inspired a right-wing radical uprising in January against the capitol builidng, which I have to feel was somehow contrived perhaps by the intervention of undercover federal agents in order to accomplish a number of things -- one of them being to show that there is a real threat coming the people. That is what you would call a cover-up. The concept of a domestic surveillance operation, which people began chattering about ever since the Snowden revelations in 2013, has gradually been seeping into the mainstream consciousness -- which the establishment has been trying very hard to avoid and ignore the best that they can. And so, what the powers that be in a situation like this do is to simply muddy the waters and to help create a distraction (with the help of the Trump administration and stupid people) that steers people's minds away from the massive surveillance operation -- which goes way beyond spying on people on the internet and which has been in full operation for several years now -- to subtly implant the idea in the public's minds, which the corporate television networks have done a marvelous job at helping out with, that there is a serious threat coming from the public. This is an example of manufacturing consent which Noam Chomsky pointed out thirty or forty years ago.
Ever since the large military contracts were coming to an end in 2013-14, it was important for the defense industry to have a new threat in which they can win new large government contracts to protect us from for years to come, and so what they had planned out, most likely years ahead of time, which no one in the media, not even Noam Chosmsky on Youtube, will dare talk about is that the powers that be in the Pentagon basically decided to malign and expand the very meaning of what constitutes a national threat to the U.S. By doing this, they can make a relatively short list of people who actually pose as threat to society and change it in an instance into a very substantial list with enough people on the new federal watch list to warrant a very massive domestic surveillance operation in which not just just federal intelligence agencies are involved in but also segments of the military or contractors of, state and local governments, and the coopreration of retail establishments that have stores that can see a high traffic of people in one day.
I can say more about the kind of people that the Pentagon is looking for and some of the activities that an individual can do to attract unnecessary attention to themselves that can very easily lead to harassment by these forces on a daily basis, but I will stop here. Rather, I encourage you to seriously begin thinking about the only thing that could have the power to dismantle such a horrific and unconstituional goverment operationi. It is called democracy, which regular, everyday folk never had in this country. All we need to do, which wouldn't take a whole lot of effort or time in actually building and setting up, is the establishment of a democratic, political structure that is specifically designed for the individual citizen, preferably an online, direct-democracy platform and public forum of some kind -- which the corporate world, including the corporate media, would not be able to interfere with -- where any citizen can not only do basic things like vote in an election or express one's opinion on any topic that affects people but also do the two most important that the general public could ever do to greatly influence the public policy that Congress actually creates and to determine the direction that society takes -- promoting, encouraging, and facilitating a mass amount of critical thinking AND, even more importantly, the full engagement of rational, discourse among millions of people.
It of course would have to be organized in a very clever and practical way in order to maximize the constructiveness of the new political system or structure, but the most important thing about it is that everyday citizens, at their whim, will be able to freely unite with many other citizens around a common cause or a specific, systemic flaw in society and engage in rational discourse and mulitple brainstorming sessions in order to eventually produce a practical and logical solution to a real problem that confronts human beings -- especially that affect people on a mass scale. These proposals would first have to be voted on by the people, and then upon approval be electronicallly delivered directly to the appropriate agency, branch of government, Representatives, Senators, or Congress as a whole which the government would have to take seriously and be obliged to immediately begin acting upon.

@Vel due to your complete lack of understanding of the fundamentals of any of the political economic ideologies, you have produced a convoluted treatise peppered with inaccuracies and outright fabrications.
Here are a couple of points:
1. Communism and socialism are fundamentally ideologies of class struggle. They each recognise that there are classes in society and such classes (in modern society) are based upon material conditions; meaning the control of production. In this analysis, the state is merely a political construct that serves the purpose of the dominant (or ruling) classes.
2. Capitalism and its late-stage form, imperialism, is the political economic domination by the capitalist class, who dominate the state, and thus society, through their control of the means of production. In vulgar terms, capitalists are the monied or wealthy class. However, in actuality, this wealthy class consist of the old feudalists (the landlord class such as in Britain and other parts of Europe which are holdovers from Europe’s feudal past which was not completely destroyed by the bourgeois revolutions), the bourgeois industrialists (which rose to prominence in the Industrial Age), the bourgeois merchants and bankers (such as those that came to constitute the City of London). Collectively, they are referred to as the oligarchy and have persisted as a broad class since at least Ancient Greece. Their interests are supported by such institutions as the church/state religion, the monarchy, etc.
3. Marxism, is a branch of communism which advocates international class struggle organised according to the local conditions of each nation state. The ultimate goal of communism under Marxist ideology is the elimination of classes, the withering away of the state and the extinguishment of the false and arbitrary borders. Marxism viewed socialism as a path to communism during which time the productive capacity of the nation would be put towards the advancement of society to build a shared prosperity and eliminate poverty. These are considered preconditions for the establishment of a communist society.
4. Despite Mussolini’s past as a socialist, when he seized power he abandoned the fundamental principle of class struggle, and like his later counterparts in the German Nazi party, preferred to pursue a dubious path of class collaboration in which very conveniently close partnerships were formed between the state apparatus and the corporations and industrialist class. Class collaboration or the dilution of class identity, has always been, and remains to this day, the favourite ruse of the capitalist class to maintain control of the working classes. Other favourite tricks are the promotion of ultranationalism, militarism, and racism. This is why there is such close collaboration between right wing capitalists/imperialists and far right groups (Nazis, nativists, racial supremacists, etc.). There is no debate about this and the facts of both Mussolini’s Italy and Nazi Germany are clear; they both partnered with, and were funded by, wealthy nobility, industrialists and financiers to ultimately protect the interests of those ruling classes.
You should therefore abandon any feeble attempt at the cheap propaganda that tries to divorce fascism and its bedfellow, Nazism, from right wing ideology, considering that both are on the extreme right wing spectrum.
To call international socialism an attempt at imperialism is so laughable that I want to believe you meant it as a joke. How can the attempt to instigate worldwide revolution of the exploited working classes be framed as imperialism? It’s just like saying when the slave colonies in the Caribbean and Americas were fomenting revolution against their imperialist oppressors this amounted to an attempt at slave imperialism. Or that when colonised countries in Africa and Asia fought for their independence through active international collaborations this amounted to imperialism of the colonised. You can see how patently absurd this is as to be considered utterly silly.
Lenin pulled out of WWI almost without conditions despite the pressure from the imperialist powers, Britain, France, Belgium, Japan, USA,, which promptly began to attack the new socialist republics and undermine it. These imperialist barbarians would go on to assault the USSR in defence of the savage Czarist forces (the White Army) in one of the most savage onslaughts of the WWI period, even coopting the defeated Germany in the assault upon what they viewed as the worst enemy of civilisation; the Bolshevik proletariat.
It was their continued plotting that would create the fertile soil upon which would rise Franco’s fascist Spain and ultimately Nazi Germany. Was it not Marshal Petain and the other French leadership that would collaborate with the Nazis? Was it not Chamberlain and other British industrialists that would find accommodation with the Nazis following its rise to power in 1930s Germany as they viewed it as a bulwark against communist USSR? Was it not Churchill that encouraged the arming of Franco’s Spain for the same reason? Was it not American industrialists and financiers who would finance and collaborate with Nazi Germany until the point in which the USA entered the war on the side of the hopelessly imperilled Britain which had gotten itself into a bind trying to collaborate with Nazi Germany in the hopes that Hitler would maintain his focus to the east and not invade the west as he ultimately did. Was the British Royal family not in warm fraternity with Hitler and his henchmen?
Do not redefine terms to suit your fancy; far-right wingers by virtue of their ideology of ultranationalism and racism, have been shown throughout history as violent extremists who have committed the most terrible acts of genocide known to humanity. They have often been sponsored by greedy right wing capitalists who use them to advance their economic agendas and keep the working classes divided.

Noam is a rare blessing to us all. Being able to relay reports in layman's terms, stripped of all the political & corporate baggage, such as spin, false contexts and outright subterfuges is (for us) like finding a rare gemstone in a sea of heaving bull****. I've tried to do the same just for personal consumption and I know how incredibly difficult it is to unearth the reality of situations.. We desperately need more Noam's. A rare and special breed.
