In 1998, the quartet recorded Let's Get Together for the movie The Parent Trap. A year later, the girls all guest-starred as themselves on the ABC television show, Boy Meets World and soon after, in 2000, they released their self-titled album, on the Hollywood Records label. Nobody's Angel featured the hit song, If You Wanna Dance. Later, they released the song Pokémon World with the boy group Youngstown for the movie Pokémon The Movie 2000.
Another cameo featured them on the ABC TV movie, Model Behavior, starring Justin Timberlake as one of the cast members. Stacey and Amy Sue eventually left the group in 2001 to pursue careers of their own. They were soon replaced by actress/singer Jennie Kwan (formerly of the NBC show California Dreams) and Tai-Amber Hoo.
After recording a few songs for the soundtracks to the Disney films 102 Dalmatians and The Princess Diaries, the group split up in 2002. An album was supposed to be released, but never surfaced.
Let's Get Together
Nobody's Angel Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Why don't you and I combine?
Let's get together, what do you say?
We can have a swinging time
We'd be a crazy team
Why don't we make a scene together?
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Think of all that we could share
Let's get together, everyday
Every way and everywhere
And though we haven't got a lot
We could be sharing all we've got together
Oh! I really think you're swell
Uh huh! We really ring the bell
Oo wee! And if you stick with me
Nothing could be greater, say, hey alligator
Let's get together, yeah, yeah, yeah
Two is twice as nice as one
Let's get together, right away
We'll be having twice the fun
And you can always count on me
A gruesome twosome we will be together, yeah, yeah, yeah
The song Let's Get Together by Nobody's Angel is an upbeat tune about the desire to form a partnership with another person, and to have a great time while doing so. The lyrics encourage the idea of combining forces and experiencing all aspects of life together, both the good and the not-so-good. The phrase "let's make a scene together" suggests a desire to stand out and be noticed, possibly as a couple. The repetition of the phrase "let's get together" reinforces the idea of a desire for unity, and the line "two is twice as nice as one" reminds listeners of the potential for increased enjoyment and success when collaborating with someone else.
The lyrics suggest that the two individuals in the song may not have much to offer on their own, but by combining forces they can achieve greatness. It's unclear whether the song is about a romantic partnership or a platonic one, but the lines "I really think you're swell" and "if you stick with me, nothing could be greater" suggest a deeper connection beyond just friendship. The repeated chant of "yeah yeah yeah" throughout the song adds to its upbeat and catchy nature, making it a memorable tune about the joys of partnering up with someone else.
