The opening to this game still gives me chills. The architecture, the cinematic feel, all of it was majestic. It felt like the dawn of a new era in gaming (which it turned out to be, in actual fact).

The beginning of this game actually made me feel it’s the end of the game.
Everything seems like what you’d expect in the final battle.
Only Cloud at Level 7 made me believe it’s the beginning.

Flames! Absolute flames! I'm normally incredibly hard to sway for covers, but this was ultimate perfection for a song I have a great deal of appreciation for. Some don't realise that when you spend your childhood playing such a game, the soundtracks are comforting in an indescribable way, and are our go to, in sickness, and in health. Play them wrong or bad, and you destroy that comfortable feeling about the track, every second you're listening IMO. Great job making a fan out of me. Well played :D

Beautiful use of articulation and dynamics! I don't recall Nakayama's arrangement making use of rubato or gradual volume changes; he could definitely learn a thing or two from watching this.

Also, at 4:01 for your left hand to be bouncing so much, you must be playing quite forcefully. That looks fun to play!

I think your excitement for the remake may have suffused your performance of this piece. If I may say, I think you really showed off a great sense of pacing; sure, the fast parts are fast, but not so much that it doesn't allow a feeling of something coming up during the opening notes. It just got me pumped up and created a real sense of momentous events happening. Great job!

It is sped up a bit, actually. I do so much video editing that I can tell it's being compressed from a slightly higher frame rate. Watch how her hands and feet move around 3:32.

She's obviously a great player, but you definitely couldn't pay me to believe she played this song at this tempo. I'd bet she played it 6 to 10 bpm slower for accuracy and sped it up.

Watch how her hands move in her "On Our Way" video. Those are weighted keys and they don't jump back up quite that quickly. A lot more Youtubers than people realize do this, and it makes me a bit sad.

@Kara Comparetto Same here. I grew up in the 80s and 90s, but didn't play a pure rpg until Chrono Trigger. I didn't even know there were story-based games like that until I bought the game with the frog! It changed everything. I burned through quite a few after that. Feel free to play more 16bit (or 32) any time, and thanks for all you've done already.

Awesome job! This piece isn't easy, but it's among my favorites in the piano opera. Those tremolos in the beginning are everything. And nice job on those 4 chords at 1:48, I find that to be one of the hardest parts in the whole song ;)

@Kara Comparetto That section is tricky! It's easy to mix up the left hand part and miss the high Db if you're not paying attention. Honestly though I still also struggle with 2:16 to 2:20. Something about the rhythm, I have a tough time wrapping my head around. I guess when it comes down to it, the whole thing is hard 😆
