Electricity
Nonpoint Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The whole world is listening
From the wild west stories
North pole, south pole and everywhere in between
The way it takes over me
Like the power of a lightning bolt
I let it on me, move me
Makes me feel like I'm out of control
Take it over (it's electricity)
Take it over me
Take it over (it's electricity)
Take it over me
Take it over me (it's electricity)
Take it over me (it's electricity)
Take it over me
Second of complicity
All the years of my memories
Every stop in every city,
Every bar every state and everything in between
Every getaway story that I know
Every path that I let go
All the ants in the street
Places full of people
Sending me out of control
Take it over (it's electricity)
Take it over me
Take it over (it's electricity)
Take it over me
Take it over me (it's electricity)
Take it over me (it's electricity)
Take it over me
Take it over me (it's electricity)
Take it over me
You're only (you're only)
Strong as you let you become
You're only (you're only)
You're only (you're only)
Strong as you let you become
Take it over (it's electricity)
Take it over me
Take it over (it's electricity)
Take it over me
Take it over me (it's electricity)
Take it over me (it's electricity)
Take it over me
Take it over me (it's electricity)
Take it over me
The lyrics of Nonpoint's song "Electricity" speak about the power of music, specifically the power of the band's music. The song starts by pointing out that music is something that connects people from all over the world and how it possesses the ability to take over a person's emotions like the power of lightning. The lyrics go on to mention the band's history, citing all of the places where they have performed, and the memories that they have created along the way. These memories and experiences are the source of the band's strength, as they have allowed themselves to become as strong as possible by fully embracing their musical journey.
The recurring chorus of "Take it over (it's electricity), take it over me" emphasizes the idea that the energy and power of music can truly consume a person and take them over. The message of the song is ultimately about how music can affect people in such a profound way and become an integral part of their lives. Nonpoint is urging their listeners to let the power of music take over and become a part of them by embracing the emotions it evokes and the experiences it creates.
