Stranger
Noosa Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Uh, uh, uh
Uh, uh, uh
All you know, all you know is we wanna go far
All I make, see you take it, we wanna go far!
Somebody shake in the . now
Telephone put down, is that how you call out?
I feel the touch of your long hair, straight from the cold air
Is anyone up there?

You threw me in the sun of light
And I flew, I'm getting lost in the things I do!
Maybe there's a stranger in the room
Following my heart to never move.
Maybe there's a stranger in the room
Following my heart to never move.

Starlight, dancers alone in the night.
Firefight, sparks go by of twinkle in light.
I heard the stars sing, might be the real thing,
See what the moon brings!
The night ends before dawn, I feel some new come
Sun brings a new song.

You threw me in the sun of light
And I flew, I'm getting lost in the things I do!
Maybe there's a stranger in the room
Following my heart to never move.
Maybe there's a stranger in the room
Following my heart to never move.

I'll be down if your golden arrow
Meet me to all . to see.
Shake the room just to see you're out there
Lead me through!
Uh, uh, uh left me here now

Uh, uh, uh left me here now
Uh, uh, uh left me here now

Overall Meaning

The song "Stranger" by Noosa is an ethereal and dreamy track that leaves a lot of room for interpretation. The first verse sets the tone with the lines "All you know, all you know is we wanna go far/All I make, see you take it, we wanna go far!" This suggests a desire for success and the drive to achieve it, while the following lines "Somebody shake in the . now/Telephone put down, is that how you call out?" seem to be questioning the lack of communication and connection in society today. The next lines suggest a moment of intimacy with another person: "I feel the touch of your long hair, straight from the cold air/Is anyone up there?" This could be interpreted as a moment of vulnerability, where the singer is allowing themselves to feel something and connect with someone else.

The chorus contains the repeated lines "Maybe there's a stranger in the room/Following my heart to never move," which could suggest a feeling of being lost or unsure of oneself, with the "stranger" representing some sort of inner voice or intuition that is pushing the singer forward. The next verse contains more imagery of the night sky, with lines like "Starlight, dancers alone in the night/Firefight, sparks go by of twinkle in light." This imagery continues with the lines "I heard the stars sing, might be the real thing/See what the moon brings!" which could suggest a moment of awe or inspiration, where the singer is finding beauty in the world around them.

So did you intentionally rip off Lana Del Rey? Listen to Blue Jeans-- beginning is pretty much identical.

@PatMcGuireMusic

Fair enough to raise the comparison but, it could also be the producer's fault. Some chord progressions get into our subconscious. A mood, a feeling or a vibe that gets under our skin. That's why you can't copywrite them. In fairness to her, the song is different. With all respect, I think your accusation is a bit harsh. After all, as lovely as Lana's song is, one could certainly accuse her (or her producer?) of lifting from "Wicked Game" by Chris Isaak? It even has a reverby guitar line...
