That Silver Haired Daddy of Mine
Norah Jones;Billie Joe Armstrong Lyrics

In a vine covered shack in the mountains
Bravely fighting the battle of time
Is a dear one who's weathered my sorrows
'Tis that silver haired daddy of mine

If I could recall all the heartaches
Dear old daddy, I've caused you to bear
If I could erase those lines from your face
And bring back the gold to your hair

If God would but grant me the power
Just to turn back the pages of time
I'd give all I own, if I could but atone
To that silver haired daddy of mine

I know it's too late, dear old daddy
To repay for those sorrows and cares
Though dear mother is waiting in heaven
Just to comfort and solace you there

If I could recall all the heartaches
Dear old daddy, I've caused you to bear
If I could erase those lines from your face
And bring back the gold to your hair

If God would but grant me the power
Just to turn back the pages of time
I'd give all I own, if I could but atone
To that silver haired daddy of mine

I'd give all I own, if I could but atone
To that silver haired daddy of mine

This is AMAZING! Billie Joe is more country then any of the fakes on country radio now! I have so much respect for him, I've never fallen in love with a song so quickly until I heard "Long Time Gone". GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!!

@TimRoseOfficial

Billie is one of the most versatile musicians of all time ❤

@estellealiahmed195

I have this album since the beginning and still listen often. And now my daughter of 7 years want just listen only this album and specially this song all day. And start learning to play in piano ❤

@tamisacar

I don't usually like country but love the combination of their voices <3

@MudcookiesBE

a lot of people start with that mentality, then they discover what good country is like and they admit being a fan. You should try it, don't be ashamed to be a country-lover ;)  There's a lot of country music with a simmilair way of singing

I have been a fan of Billie Joe's since the early '90's so I'm not knocking him with this comment, but his voice seems to play the female role while Norah's lends a more masculine vibe...and it works! This is a weird triumvirate for me...I've loved Billie Joe for years and years....Norah has partnered with my favorite band before....and I love the Everly Brothers....what a coinky dink.

@flammingcarrot

Just a pet peeve ... but triumvirate = 3 people.

@hildyvanhefeweizen2762

According to Merriam-Webster "triumvirate" has three meanings:

1. a body of triumvirs
2. the office or government of triumvirs
3. a group or association of three (doesn't specify the "three" has to be people)

@flammingcarrot

I don't want to start a flame war but... again, just a pet-peeve...

According to Merriam-Webster, "triumvir":
One of a commission or ruling body of three.

According to Merriam-Webster, synonyms for "triumvirate":
triad, trifecta, trinity, trio, triple, triplet, threesome
