My mind is spinning
Hopelessly out of control
Heartbroken, day after
Your side is winning
And I find myself in the cold
Hey, hey
At least that's what I tell myself
Anyway
Hey, hey
Don't look so sad
It's not that bad
Or is it?
It might be today
Heartbroken, day after
My heart is racing
To find a way out of this place
Heartbroken, day after
Our world is wasting away
And it's too much to face
Oh, hey, hey
It's gonna be okay
My little one
I promise
We'll find our way
Hey, hey
Don't look so worried
We'll have to hurry
And climb out of this mess we've made
Find a way out
Find a way out
Find a way out
Find a way out
Find a way out
Find a way out
Find a way out
Find a way out
Find a way out
Find a way out
Heartbroken, day after
My mind is spinning
Hopelessly out of control
"Heartbroken Day After" is a song by Norah Jones that seems to be about the aftermath of a break-up or relationship ending. The lyrics suggest that the singer is feeling lost and alone, struggling to cope with the pain of heartbreak. The first verse describes how the singer's mind is "spinning hopelessly out of control" and how they feel as though they are on the losing side of the break-up. The chorus offers a glimmer of hope, with the singer trying to convince themselves that everything will be okay, but it's clear that they are not entirely sure.
The second verse provides more insight into the singer's state of mind, with references to their heart racing and the world around them "wasting away". They are clearly struggling to come to terms with the loss of the relationship and the uncertain future that lies ahead. The second chorus is addressed to someone else, possibly a child, with the singer trying to reassure them that things will be okay and they will find their way through the difficult times. The repeated refrain at the end of the song, "find a way out", suggests that the singer is desperate to escape from the pain of their heartbreak and move on with their life.
Overall, "Heartbroken Day After" is a poignant and relatable song about the pain of heartbreak and the struggle to find hope in the aftermath of a relationship ending.

Mongolian polo is a game
Played by elites
The ball some poor saps
Head in a bag
Knocked back and forth
With fancy instruments
And Siren calls
There may be rules
But they are subject
To change at any moment
There are no goals
Each player keeps
A different score
And no one knows
Whose team they are on
The poor saps head
Is kept spinning, spinning
Focused on a shiny object
Should this squirrel cage
Stop turning
Would it be
No fools, no fun?

I just broke up with my two years long distance relationship yesterday. Now I ended up listening Pick Me Up Off The Floor the whole album.
It's really a hard time for me but I'm trying to keep it cool. You know. But I gave myself a little time to be blue. I don't care when will I get better. I just want to lay here all day in bed.

The fact that this is so under appreciated is heartbreaking. This album is sublime, and this song is so warm, just like a hug from Norah herself, when she sings to your ear ‘hey, hey, it’s gonna be ok, my little one I promise we’ll find our way’. These are not the best days for me, and not the best year as for every single human being on this planet. And this song helps me to go through with it and gives hope that at some point everything’s really gonna be ok. I hope everyone has a good day. And if you feel lonely, remember that I love you! ❤️ especially every single one of you who comes here to listen to this beautiful song. I promise, we’ll find our way!
And thank you, Norah, your music helped me to deal with so many things during my life, and this album is exactly what everyone needed in 2020. You’re a wonderful and extremely talented human being who makes this planet a better place! 💖
