I've Got to See You Again

Down in my chair when you dance over me
I can't help myself
I've got to see you again
Late in the night when I'm all alone
And I look at the clock and I know you're not home
I can't help myselfI've got to see you again
I could almost go there
Just to watch you be seen
I could almost go there
Just to live in a dream
But no, I won't go for any of those things
To not touch your skin is not why I sing
I can't help myself
I've got to see you again
I could almost go there
Just to watch you be seen
I could almost go there
Just to live in a dream
No, I won't go to share you with them
But oh, even though I know where you've been
I can't help myself
I've got to see you again
Oh, I can't help myself
I've got to see you again
The lyrics of Norah Jones's song "I've Got to See You Again" are about the intense desire to be with someone. While the lines on the person's face don't bother the singer, she cannot help but feel this strong pull towards the person. While alone late at night, the singer can't help but think about the person and can't resist the urge to see them again. She almost wants to go just to watch the person be seen and live in a dream, but she resists these urges because she doesn't want to share the person with anyone else. Despite knowing where the person has been, the singer simply can't help but feel this intense desire and must see the person again.
The song expresses the complexity of desire and how it can overwhelm a person. The singer can't help but be drawn to the person despite knowing that it may not be the best decision for her. The lyrics convey a sense of desperation and longing that can be difficult to control. The idea that the singer would almost go to watch the person be seen shows how powerful the desire to be close to someone can be.

on The Nearness of You
The Nearness Of You - Camille Thurman -Lyrics
Its not the pale moon that excites me
That thrills and delights me, oh no
Its just the nearness of you
It isn't your sweet conversation
That brings this sensation, oh no
Its just the nearness of you
When you're in my arms
And I feel you so close to me
All my wildest dreams do come true
I need no soft lights to enchant me
If you'll only grant me
The right to hold you ever so tight
And to feel in the night
The nearness of you
Saxophone Musical Interlude
I need no soft lights to enchant me
If you'll only grant me
The right to hold you ever so tight
And to feel in the night
The nearness, the nearness of you
