In The Morning
Norah Jones Lyrics

Calling out your name
I can't stop myself from falling
Falling back again
In the morning
Baby, in the afternoon
Dark like the shady cornersInside a violin
Hot like to burn my lips
I know I can't win
In the morning
Baby, in the afternoon
I try to quit you but I'm too weak
Waking up without you
I can hardly speak at all
Mmm-hmm
My girlfriend tried to help me
To get you off my mind
She tried a little tea and sympathy
To get me to unwind
In the morning
Baby, in the afternoon
Funny how my favorite shirt
Smells more like you than me
Bitter traces left behind
Stains that no one can see
In the morning
Baby, in the afternoon
You're gonna put me in an early grave
I can't stop myself from calling
Calling out your name
I can't stop myself from falling
Falling back again
Falling back again
Falling back again
Falling back again
Falling back, oh
Falling back again
Falling back again
Baby, in the afternoon
Falling back again
Falling back again
In the morning
The lyrics of Norah Jones's "In The Morning" tell a story of a woman who is hopelessly in love with someone, even though the relationship is not good for her. She is unable to stop calling and reaching out to this person, and falls back into their toxic love again and again. The opening lines of the song, "I can't stop myself from calling/Calling out your name" set the tone for the rest of the lyrics, which continue to express the singer's inability to control her feelings.
The second verse, "Dark like the shady corners/Inside a violin/Hot like to burn my lips/I know I can't win" describes the intense and almost painful nature of her feelings for this person. The comparison to a "shady corner" and "inside a violin" suggests that the love she feels is hidden and difficult to express, and the reference to burning lips may imply that her feelings are almost uncomfortable in their intensity.
The final verse, "You're gonna put me in an early grave/I know I'm your slave whenever you call" underscores the fact that this relationship is hurting the singer and has the potential to destroy her. Despite this, she can't help but keep falling back into it.
Overall, the lyrics suggest a sense of desperation and a lack of control over one's emotions. The singer knows that the relationship is not healthy, but can't help but keep reaching out to this person.

on The Nearness of You
The Nearness Of You - Camille Thurman -Lyrics
Its not the pale moon that excites me
That thrills and delights me, oh no
Its just the nearness of you
It isn't your sweet conversation
That brings this sensation, oh no
Its just the nearness of you
When you're in my arms
And I feel you so close to me
All my wildest dreams do come true
I need no soft lights to enchant me
If you'll only grant me
The right to hold you ever so tight
And to feel in the night
The nearness of you
Saxophone Musical Interlude
I need no soft lights to enchant me
If you'll only grant me
The right to hold you ever so tight
And to feel in the night
The nearness, the nearness of you
