Norah Jones Lyrics

Robber of my soul
Where can you be
I wait patiently
My heart cries out
Pain inside
Where can you be
When you're alone
The going get rough
Come back, come back, come back baby
I've had enough
Make me a queen
Happy again
Here my cry
And ease my pain
When you're alone
Going gets rough
Come back, come back, come back, baby
I've had enough
Make me a queen
Happy again
Hear me cry
Ease my pain
The opening lines of "Ruler of My Heart" by Norah Jones set the stage for a song that is all about pining for a lost love. The singer is consumed by the memory of her past relationship, her heart taken over by the very person who broke it. Jones uses evocative visuals in her lyrics, referring to the person as the "ruler of my heart" and the "robber of my soul," making it clear that this person has left a deep impression on her.
Throughout the song, the singer expresses her sadness and longing for her lost love, waiting patiently and crying out in pain. She pleads with the person to return and ease her pain, to make her feel happy again. The repetition of the lines "when you're alone, going gets rough, come back, come back, come back, baby, I've had enough" is particularly effective at conveying the sense of desperation and yearning that the singer is feeling.
Overall, "Ruler of My Heart" is a beautifully rendered song that captures the universal emotions of heartbreak and yearning. Jones' unique vocal style adds a layer of depth and emotion to the lyrics, making it a song that can resonate with anyone who has ever experienced the pain of a lost love.
