Open Up
Norm Lyrics

Bir çığlık bulsam hiç susmayan
Veya bi cümlede beni anlatan
Gittin gideli sonsuz
Bir acı ölümün önüne geçemedim yok ilacı
Ilk ve son nefes ürkek bu beden
Nedensizim sana yakışmaz kefen
Sormaya korktum meleğim nerde
Hicran bu kesik eksik kalbim
Her gece sancı odamda hayalin
Külleri üfle ama ben yandım
Günlerim hezeyan sensiz kaldım
Sen düş ve gülüşlerime umuttun
çiviler çaktılar sanki kalbe
Yeryüzünde bak bi hayat unuttun
Bu çocuk sensiz yapamadı anne.
Dünya bir film açılır perden
Mutlu son da yok kaçar hep senden nefret edersin seyircilerden
Sahnesi gerçek tek oyun ölümdür
Solgun her surat yalanla boyanır
Rüya biter kul gerçeğe uyanır
Sonbaharı sevmiyor hiç bi yaprak
Söz geçer mi kadere bu kara toprak
Sövdümse beden zamanla gelişir
Güldümse neden sanmaki değişir
Derdi bilmeden sözler avutmaz
Gözyaşı aksın bu gönül unutmaz
Durgunum artık suçumu ararken
Bakan bi kör var seçimi yaparken
Hayatı oynar amacı biçimsiz
Sarhoştur acım sonucu geçimsiz
Aynı hüzündür sendeki duygu
ölüme sözümdür bendeki uyku
Anlamı yok doğan her güne lanet
Bu çocuk sensiz yapamadı affet.
Dünya bir film açılır perden
Mutlu son da yok kaçar hep senden
Nefret edersin seyircilerden
Sahnesi gerçek tek oyun ölümdür
Dünya bir film açılır perden
Mutlu son da yok kaçar hep senden
Nefret edersin seyircilerden
Sahnesi gerçek tek oyun ölümdür
The lyrics to Norm's song Open Up are emotionally charged, and explore themes of grief, pain, and the inevitability of death. The first verse describes the singer's inability to cope with the loss of someone they loved deeply. They describe their pain as an "acı ölümün", an agonizing death from which they cannot escape. The singer notes how their body's initial and final breaths are fearful and timid, and how they cannot fathom the idea of their loved one being reduced to a mere shroud, saying "Nedensizim sana yakışmaz kefen". They express a sense of dread and concern about where their loved one is, asking "Sormaya korktum meleğim nerde / Tanrım hesap ver şimdi sıra sende". The pain of the singer's loss is palpable, and they describe how their heart is incomplete without the person they have lost: "Hicran bu kesik eksik kalbim".
The second verse continues to explore the idea of life as a play or film, with a lack of happy endings. The singer notes how people in the world often hide behind false faces and lies, but death is the only true reality. They describe how people are like "solgun her surat yalanla boyanır", or "faded faces painted with lies". The singer also reflects on their own mortality, saying "Rüya biter kul gerçeğe uyanır", meaning "the dream ends, the slave wakes up to reality". In the final lines, the singer acknowledges their inability to move forward without their loved one, but also expresses a sense of resignation, saying "Bu çocuk sensiz yapamadı affet", or "this child cannot carry on without you, forgive me".
Overall, the lyrics to Open Up are a haunting reflection on the pain and grief of losing someone you love. The singer is raw and honest in their description of their emotions, and the lyrics are full of vivid imagery and metaphors. The song is a poignant reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing those we love while we still have them.

What guts it took to stay up there, tell the joke, and tell Dave that he loved him. The world is a lesser place without you, Norm.

@Felipe Lagarda He admitted his love, and also planted a seed. Eh-heh.

Interesting story I heard Norm tell- he never actually meant to say ''I love you'' but he just blurted it out because he was so overcome with emotion. He was a little embarrassed about it afterwards but I think everyone loved him a little more in that moment of pure vulnerability.

@MargbarMK - How did I prove you right? I listed the other nations Germany invaded with dates. Why do you think Denmark, Norway, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, Yugoslavia and Greece "joined his military willingly?" They didn't.
I listed countries Germany invaded or attempted to invade.
You then write, "So Get your facts straight before claiming sooo BIG & baselessly about what that tiny weak Germany did in WW2. It shouldn't even be called "World War"; it just was the war of Germans against the communists in Europe."
Firstly, I didn't claim anything. I responded to your claim that "Germany only invaded Poland & Russia", nothing more. I don't know, if anyone, claimed Germany invaded the world.
I will say that WW2 didn't only include Europe as you seem to suggest. What about Japan?
MargbarMK
Germany only invaded Poland & Russia. Since when Poland & Russia are "the world"?

@Thomas Sindle - Only his closest family knew. Long-term friends have said they didn't know.
