Teardrops
Norman Fox & The Rob-Roys Lyrics

And tomorrow's rainbows we will share me and you
So dry your eyes, little girl, dry your eyes,
And we're gonna see skies of blue yeah, yeah, yeah
Had a tough time gettin' started, maybe you're just a little downhearted
All you gotta do is a count to ten, baby you'll be smiling when,
Today's teardrops are tomorrow's rainbows
So dry your eyes, little girl, dry your eyes,
And we're gonna see skies of blue yeah, yeah, yeah
Today's teardrops are tomorrow's rainbows
And tomorrow's rainbows we will share me and you
So dry your eyes, little girl, dry your eyes,
And we're gonna see skies of blue yeah, yeah, yeah
Gonna be just a love of gladness, don't wanna hear nothin' 'bout sadness
Come a little closer come a to me, with each kiss you're gonna see
Today's teardrops are tomorrow's rainbows
And tomorrow's rainbows we will share me and you
So dry your eyes, little girl, dry your eyes,
And we're gonna see skies of blue yeah, yeah, yeah
Today's teardrops are tomorrow's rainbows
And tomorrow's rainbows we will share me and you
The lyrics of "Teardrops" by Norman Fox & The Rob-Roys express a hopeful message about the transience of sadness and the promise of happiness. The song reassures a girl who is feeling down that her tears will eventually give way to brighter days. The opening lines figuratively suggest that the sorrows of today will become the joys of tomorrow, as raindrops eventually lead to rainbows.
The song proceeds to encourage the girl to not dwell too much on her sadness and instead focus on counting her blessings. The lines "Had a tough time gettin' started, maybe you're just a little downhearted / All you gotta do is a count to ten, baby you'll be smiling when" suggest that taking a moment to reflect on the good things in her life will help her find joy again. The chorus repeats the message that a brighter future is coming and that the two of them will share it together.
The final verse emphasizes the importance of love and how it can help heal emotional pain. The lines "Gonna be just a love of gladness, don't wanna hear nothin' 'bout sadness / Come a little closer come a to me, with each kiss you're gonna see" suggest that the girl can find comfort and happiness in the embrace of the singer, and that their relationship will help turn her tears into rainbows.
Overall, "Teardrops" is a song that aims to uplift and inspire, reminding listeners that even in the midst of sadness, hope is never far away.

I love doo wop and wish the current generation could discover it.

Having sung in a doo-wop group for a few years in the 60’s, I know how difficult it is to hit a note, hold it and then fly with it in harmony with four other guys (and girl too at times). The Rob Roys were one of the first integrated singing groups of the era. Sweet, tight and always on key, it does make your feet want to dance.

Having NEVER sung in a doo-wop group, I know how difficult it is to hit a note (ANY note), hold it and then fly with it in harmony with a bunch of drunken baboons in a bar, with a jukebox that's doin' it right...good times! Love this song!

I love how during that time the blacks and whites united together to bring about such beautiful music. We didn't freak out over it or dwell on who was best or got more money. We just enjoyed it
