@05:16 There is no "Brady Bunch Money". The show was created before the SAG strike of 1972 which negotiated royalty/residual payments for all actors in future productions. The agreement was not retroactive, so any show that was created prior to the agreement did not benefit. The actors were paid for their performance, one re-run,and agent fees. THAT'S IT.
Do a little more research man.

One of the most awesome things to come out of the Brady Bunch series was the Brady Bunch Movie that spoofed the series brutally and relentlessly for the plots, the clothing and the basic goody two shoes nature of the series. It was hilarious.

Yes. At the time those movies were launched it was perfect. The people that saw them obviously had zillions of hard laughs. The clothing especially was very funny. But accurate for the period. When I saw the movies it was hilarious to me because I and family and friends and strangers etc. wore the same. The 70s, in my opinion, was the best decade for fashion and accessories.

Agree. I hated the show when "cousin oliver" came into the show. To me, the show failed and went downhill when "cousin Oliver" was brought into the show. I feel HE ruined the show and pulled the ratings down , thanks to him. Otherwise, I LOVED THE "BRADY BUNCH" from beginning UNTIL "OLIVER" APPEARED ON THE SHOW. Then the show sucked. When it ended, I was 13 1/2 years old.

Popular Myth is that Oliver is what got the show cancelled; actually the network had already decided not to renew the BB even before Oliver appeared. As for the show sucking after they added Oliver, you may be surprised to hear he was only in the last SIX EPISODES. Our memories are different.

Def. one of my favs. My favorite episodes are when they went to visit that western ghost town and got locked in a "real life" jail cell. When I was a kid in the 70s/80s, Brady Bunch, Eight is Enough, and The Waltons were must-see-tv. I came from a family of 5 sisters and me, big families were normal back then. Now it's 2.3 kids and a dog. Can't blame the Greg actor for having a crush on Florence, I always did think she was cute. I had lots of "tv crushes", like Barbara Eden, Elizabeth Montgomery, Julie from Love Boat, Daisy from "Dukes", Nichelle Nichols from Star Trek...

Mike Brady was my favorite character of the show.
My real Dad hated my admiration for him, thinking he could never live up to this fake person. Mike was REAL to me. But I love my Dad for who he was, imperfect as we all are.

Years ago, when I was an airline pilot Captain, I was flying from JFK to LAX. Enroute, my flight attendant said a woman passenger sitting in the coach cabin, sneaked into first class and took a seat. She refused to go back to her coach seat. The flight attendant asked me what to do; I said to tell the woman that if she didn't go back to coach, I'd land in Denver, drop her off, and the agent would run her credit card, for the cost of first class! The flight attendant had also informed me that Florence Henderson was on-board. I left the cockpit to get a cup of coffee. In the galley was Florence talking to my flight attendant. I formulated a prank; I said hi to Florence, but did not let on, that I knew who she was. I assumed that my flight attendant had told Florence about the woman who snuck into first class. So, I said to the flight attendant "Is this the lady who snuck into first class?" Florence said to me "no, no, I didn't sneak into first class, I paid for it!" I looked at Florence, placed my hand on her arm, and said: I know you're Florence Henderson-I was teasing you about sneaking into first class, as I assumed the flight attendant had told you about the freeloader!" Florence laughed, and said "I didn't know anything about that incident-you're so funny!'

In the long run my favorite character was Jan. While all eyes were on the beautiful Marsha, they didn't stop to take notice how beautiful Jan was becoming as she was growing up to be a wonderful and beautiful young woman. In real life I would have taken Jen out on a date a hell of a lot quicker than Marsha even if Marsha had her interest on me.

I like the dad, Robert Reed, and the idea of him behind the scenes, criticizing the dialogue of the scripts. I can picture him on set, in a smoking jacket with smoking ascot, pretentiously yelling "I can't work under these conditions, I'm ac-tooor and an art-eeest!!"

A retroactive jump the shark. Brady's may have been on longer had they adjusted the storylines to be reflective of real life at the time. I think someone said greg should have been drafted for Nam, but i think the draft had ended by the time his character graduated. Maybe Mo getting busted fir shoplifting. Jan and peter get caught playing hide the salami

Loved the episode where Peter broke a Vase playing basketball in the house and lied about it, he kept having a dream where the ball came down from the 2nd floor breaking the Vase over and over again, also Peter's identity crisis "pork chops and applesauce " it was a lot less corny than the partridge family which came on after the BB.

I liked the parents. As a kid I wanted parents to be funny, fun and there. I never met anyone in my 41 years with parents like this. Breaks my heart. It was truly an escape for me. I didn't learn anything from this show; maybe to keep dreaming, control over jealousy as not everything is what it appears to be. Idk it was entertaining.

I appreciate Robert Reed working hard to keep the show from getting goofier and sillier than it already was. He brought a layer of legitimacy to the character that clearly Sherwood Schwartz had no interest in. I watched this show every Friday night in the early 70's and he created a father figure that did resonant with little kids.
