Life isn't free you must buy your trust
Fight like the rest of us
Life isn't free you must buy your trust
You're hiding in plain sight
I never saw you coming and I never saw you go
Do you even exist?
I always hear you talking never hear you raise your voice
Do you stand for something?
Or do you fall for nothing?
Do you fall for nothing?
How can you fall when you don't stand for something?
Everytime you push it away
It goes on and on and on and on again
Everyday you dig a new grave
But it goes on and on and on we're singing
Fight like the rest of us
Life isn't free you must buy your trust
Fight like the rest of us
Life isn't free you must buy your trust
A coward in a gunfight
I never see you mourn I never see you make a choice
Do you even exist?
All rise for the king of the shallow
All rise for the queen of disguise
Fat smile but inside you are hollow
Everything you see, it comes with a price
Everytime you push it away
It goes on and on and on and on again
Everyday you dig a new grave
But it goes on and on and on we're singing
Fight like the rest of us
Life isn't free you must buy your trust
Fight like the rest of us
Life isn't free you must buy your trust
Yeah!
Fight like the rest of us
Life isn't free you must buy your trust
Fight like the rest of us
Life isn't free you must buy your trust
The lyrics of Normandie's song "Fight" express a call to action for those who seem to be hiding in the shadows, urging them to stand up and fight for what they believe in. The song emphasizes that in life, trust is not a given and must be earned through action, hence the line "Life isn't free you must buy your trust." The song speaks to those who may be passive or indecisive, stating that they cannot afford to fall for nothing, and must stand up for something if they wish to make an impact in the world.
The lyrics draw a parallel between the individual and society, suggesting that just as individuals must fight for their beliefs, so must societies fight for what is right. The line "All rise for the king of the shallow, all rise for the queen of disguise" may be interpreted as a reference to societal figures who may seem to represent the greater good, but in reality, are only concerned with their own self-interest.
The repetition of the line "Every time you push it away, it goes on and on and on and on again" implies that avoiding conflict or avoiding taking a stand only prolongs the issue, and that ultimately, one must face their problems head-on. Overall, "Fight" is a call to action for those who may be hesitant to take a stand, urging them to fight for what they believe in, and to not be content with a life of complacency.
