TATTOO
Novo Combo Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I know that if I let it go
Then someone else is sure to know
How you fitted me
The way that I'm growing inside

When things just didn't go the way that I planned
It was you who made me understand
But then I reached for you
To be there evermore

This feelin' for you
Is like a tattoo
Just like a tattoo
It won't ever go away

I say it's been so deep inside of me
It's a love that runs so deep and free
I need so desperately
To know that you're feeling the same, yeah

And it's a love that never fades away
It gets stronger with every passing day
But I'll always be around there
To remind you that it's true, I love you

This feelin' for you
Is like a tattoo

Just like a tattoo
It won't ever go away

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of the song “Tattoo” by Novo Combo tell a story of deep and enduring love. The singer explains that this love has left an indelible mark on them, just like a tattoo. The opening lines suggest that the singer is afraid to let go of this love, for fear that it will be noticed and taken by someone else. The verse also suggests that this love has helped the singer grow, and that their partner has played a significant role in their life.

The chorus of the song repeats the idea of the love being like a tattoo, never fading away. It's clear that this love means everything to the singer, and they need to know that their partner feels the same way. The second verse reinforces the idea of the love growing stronger every day, with the singer always being there to remind their partner of their feelings.

I purchased this album for this song and it his turned out to be one of the best albums I ever bought! Lot's of great music. Their follow up album was good too! I can't understand why this song wasn't a much bigger hit! It should have topped the charts.
