Jérôme Rocipon is French but has been living in Montreal since 2003. He experimented with a few musical projects while studying law and communication. He experimented with electro music under the name of Junior Tricolore, but never used it.
Pierre Crube, Canadian, has been living in Montreal since 2001. He started by meeting members of Natacha's Recording who let him get his first live experience, but everything really began in 2003 when he recorded his first album "Immediate False Relief under the name of Angelika Kohlermann. This first album gets noticed by its deviant electronic pop.
In June 2005, Jérôme approached Pierre after having discovered him in a duo with Hypo, and proposed him to produce his compositions. Step by step, Pierre remixed his creations in a catchy euro-pop. This association became more and more natural, and Numéro# was born.

ça tombe bien moi aussi
Tu joues de quel instrument
Tu sais moi je connais du monde
Je suis un artiste
On est en famille
Ouais j'suis aussi DJ
Je fais danser ma copine
Et les mecs dans la salle regardent
Je suis un artiste
Trop trop stylish
T'as vu combien j'suis populaire
Tu veux rentrer dans le groupe
Faudra quand même me plaire
The song "La Vie D'artiste" by Numéro# is a satirical take on the pretentiousness and narcissism often associated with the artistic world. The lyrics describe an artist who values popularity and image over genuine talent and creativity. The artist boasts about his DJ skills, his stylish looks, and his exclusive knowledge of the coolest music. He also demands that anyone who wants to be part of his "group" needs to flatter him and his girlfriend and praise his taste in music. The chorus repeats the phrase "La Vie D'artiste", which can be translated to "The Artist's Life", and emphasizes the idea of this lifestyle being all about social connections, appearance, and trends.
Despite the humorous tone of the song, it sheds light on the problematic aspects of the art world, such as the pressure to conform to certain standards of coolness, the power dynamics between artists and their followers, and the shallowness that can come with valuing image over substance. The repeated use of the phrase "gna gna gna" at the end of the song could suggest a frustration with the empty chatter and self-promotion that often takes place in artistic circles.
